Is Dog Beach at Huntington Beach (CA) wheelchair accessible?
Kodak_E100VS_23-15

I don't need to go right up to the shore but I would like to go watch/enjoy the dogs from a good distance (i.e. not like 50 yards away). I use a power chair so rolling on sand is not an option.
I also want to set up a hang out spot (picnic, umbrella, etc.) so chilling in the parking lot is not cool.

from what i remember, it's not really wheelchair accessible. down by the sand, there is no boardwalk or cement walkway where you will be able to set up a spot.

from the parking lot, you cross over a kind of uneven road. on the other side of the road is a semi-cliff that you have to go down (and i've never noticed a ramp or stairs, so i've just climbed down it), and then it's all sand and water from there.

maybe if you wanted, you could set up a little spot on that road. that road doesn't have any cars on it, i think it's just for pedestrians and maybe bikes. from there, you can look down and see all the dogs, though it is kind of far away (most of the dogs are right next to the water, and it's a good 30+ yards of sand to the water).

My husband has seen two neurologists. The first one was leaning towards a degenerative neuromuscular disease. The second one said he thought a motor neurone disease.he will be having a nerve biopsy next month.I have looked up both. They both seem like ALS.Why can't they just tell me.I feel they both are using a umbrella term for a terrible disease. If anyone can help i would appreciate it.He was walking with a limp in late April and is now in a wheelchair. He is 53.Thanks in advance to anyone who knows.

  • wheelchair umbrella when to use it

One thing people in wheelchairs have to manage with , is outdoors exposure to rain or blistering sun. People with disabilities cherish time spent outdoors and the wheelchairs provide some kind of of independence and mobility. However, they may be tempted to remain indoors when the sun is high in the sky or if rain is threatening. Well, those worries can be disregarded because of the wheelchair umbrellas. By having one of these handy items you no longer have to worry about being cooped up in the house beacuse of the weather.

Spring and summertime are the best seasons to go outside the house. There is a myriad of flowers in bloom and everyone is getting out having part in outdoor activities....
