Wheelchair Stairs

Looking for a photo of a person in a wheelchair, at the bottom or top of a flight of stairs upset because they have no access around the stairs.

this is for my OTA assignment.

Well...first I have to ask about ambulation. Some professors and professionals believe that ambulation should only be used to mean walking. I'm not sure if this applies to your assignment, but I thought I should state that first.

Second, to go up the stairs by themselves they need to be strong, have good balance....etc. I have only known of men who have suffered spinal cord injuries actually attempt both of my answers below. They were athletes in wheelchair sports.

The person can get out of the wheelchair. Getting on butt and hands they can scoot up the stairs and pull the chair with them. This is the safest.

The other option is for the person to back up to the stairs, leaning back into a wheelie. They place there hands on the rims and forcefully propel backwards, popping themselves up the stair. With this option you have to be careful with the depth of the stair. The narrower the stair, the harder it is to tilt back into a wheelie.

This movie could have been set maybe in the south. It was made I think during the 80's or 90's. I recall a scene in which an old man in a wheelchair was pushed down the stairs perhaps in a plot to gain some sort of inheritance by his children. I also remember there being some magical doll or something, a voodoo doll perhaps?

Ring any bells?

It could have been Trilogy of Terror 2, it had a man being pushed down the stairs for the inheritance but it contained around 3 stories, the last one had a doll in it.

The wheelchair story and the doll story had nothing to do with each other though so I'm not sure it's what your're looking for.

I think it was Bette Davis, but I don't know for sure....it was pretty scary.
found it...I was looking for Richard Widmark's scene in the movie "Kiss of Death".
