is there anybody out there in a wheelchair that has a service dog?

im in a chair and i want to get a service dog and i would love to talk to someone. i dont know anybody in a wheelchair so i dont know what people personal experience with service dogs is. i have so many questions i would love to talk to someone if there anyone out there. thanks

I am not, but I was considering being a puppy raiser for a service dog training group for a while. There are a couple of groups out there that are very good and have loads of information that will help you. Also, I'm sure they could put you in contact with some of their existing customers. Try these:

Canine Companions for Independence
http://www.caninecompanions.org/

Assistance Dog Institute
http://www.assistancedog.org/

ADI is the most in-depth training facility I've ever seen. They do TONS of research on how dogs learn, were the first to discover that puppies can learn and retain commands as young 6 weeks, and have even taught dogs to read (on a limited vocabulary, of course!) Some of their stories are incredible.
But they are in California and are more into having people start their own dog training organizations than branching out their own, so it may not be easy to get a dog directly from them. CCI is nationwide and there is likely to be a local chapter in your area.

Wheelchair accessible car service in Los Angeles?

I will be visiting the LA area with a student group and need to hire a wheelchair accessible car service to drive me around the major studios and entertainment companies in the area. We have a packed schedule and will be going on 3 visits per day so reliability is of the essence. Which LA transportation companies offer good service and have wheelchair accessible vans (the chair does not fold)?
I am looking for private transportation only *please do not reply with paratransit or MTA info*

call paratransit.

I need to find a weekend service including a wheelchair van in santa clara. any help?

we need to transport a senior disabled wheelchair-bound man to a hospital, either today or tomorrow. it's an emergency.

Try calling Accessible Vans of America at 1-800-687-4446 or Wheelers at 1-800-456-1371. They are nationwide wheelchair accessible van rental companies, comparable to Hertz or Enterprise. Otherwise you are going to have to call an ambulance company near Santa Clara.

Is there a way for a person in a wheelchair to feed a service dog?

I will be getting a service dog soon and I was wondering if there was a way that I could feed my dog

Sorry but not sure I understand your question. Why could you not feed your dog?

  • BROMLEY: Wheelchair service gets revamp (From This Is Local London)

A WHEELCHAIR and scooter service has been given a revamp.

The shopmobility service at The Glades in Bromley High Street provides free hire of scooters and wheelchairs for disabled or infirm shoppers.

The new Shopmobility Centre is located on car park level one and has just had a major refurbishment of the building, which has resulted in doubling the size of the shop area.

Shoppers can access all the existing, free shopmobility services – including scooter or wheelchair hire, validation of tickets for free car parking and advice on all the facilities for the disabled within the centre.

The service has recently been taken over by family-run business Scooter and Mobilitymart.
