Why is Handicapped Wheelchair seating not accessible?
(Untitled)

My local Concert arena offers Wheelchair seating but when the show starts and people stand up I can't see a thing! Do you think this is fair and who should I complain to?

Wheelchair sitting should be in the front. Contact the arena and local disability advocates.

Is bulkhead seating good for a wheelchair customer?

What are the benefits of sitting in the bulkhead if you are a customer in a wheelchair?

Well, there isn't a benefit of sitting in the bulkhead if you are in a wheelchair. Why? Well the bulkhead doesn't have movable armrests. So if you are completely immobile, then you can't slide into your row.

Also, the bulkhead has no tray table in front of you. It's hidden inside the armrest that doesn't go up.

I would recommend to anyone sitting in a wheelchair to sit in row 2, or the row behind the bulkhead THAT IS NOT AN EXIT ROW! Most major airliners, and not prop planes, do not have an exit row immediately behind the bulkhead. It has good leg room and the armrests move and you have your tray table.

********UPDATE************* A wheelchair CAN be secured inside and aircraft. In fact, all airlines have a particular row on the plane to stow a wheel chair if the customer wants it. So if you have a sold out flight, and a WCHR customer wants to have their chair on the airplane, then guess what, people are getting booted off the plane.

And if the customer is completely immobile, that is the only way the airline staff will move the customer onto the airplane in an aisle chair. 99% of the WCHR customers I see can walk to some extent and their chairs get rolled right up to the airplane doors, and from there they walk to their seats. The wheel chairs can roll into the galley at the most. And again, if the customer requests their wheelchair to be folded up and stowed on board, then by the ADA, I cannot refuse that request.

Where are the wheelchair seats located at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium(Home of the Sooners)?

We are taking my father to the OU/TCU game and are suppose to exchange our tickets for wheelchair seating and want to know where the seats are located. It does not show them on the seating chart.

They are located in the south end zone (the detached part). They are in front of sections 36-40. I think there is also some seating towards the front either in or near the student section on the north side. I hope that helps

Dave Stubbs has been a sportswriter since 1976, which was roughly a decade after he wore the first of many holes through the knees of his jeans playing nets in road hockey (using a modified butterfly popularized by Hall of Famer Glenn Hall). He still has the welts to show on his shins from that rotten, frozen orange ball. Stubbs kept thick hockey scrapbooks filled with game summaries and Red Fisher's Montreal Star stories, collected dozens of Bee Hive Corn Syrup photos and put a fortune of hockey cards through the spokes of his bikes. His fantasy is to travel back in time to the 1950s and watch the great Canadiens dynasty that won five consecutive Stanley Cups. Or a decade earlier, to watch Elmer Lach centre Rocket Richard and Toe Blake on the fearsome Punch Line. Or at least to get Rogie Vachon into the Hockey Hall of Fame – where he belongs.
