What is the name of the job position when a person pushes patients in a wheelchair from place to place? For instance form surgery to radiology, or from patient room to surgery.
Depends where you are. In the UK they are known as porters (or a porter).
In the US I believe they are known as orderlies (an orderly).

I live in melbourne Australia, does anyone know where i can get a electric wheelchair, I currently have one but am looking for another to use as a backup as it is a huge in convenience for me when the one i'm using now breaks down.
I phoned the place that funded my wheelchair if they could provide me with a backup but there policy is only one wheelchair per person.
Does anyone have any suggestions, I need my independence AND don't want to be in a position where i have to be without my wheelchair. Pls help.
I did a lot of research for my diabetic boss but we live here in california - the best prices I can find was in ebay and if you need spare parts there is Value Mobility call FRANK 1-800 717 1252 - he delivers and you get a live person - very nice guy and answers all your questions and dependable in shipping item to you. As for the motorized wheelchair your biggest cost will be shipping and handling if you buy out of australia - can cost you as much as $900 to $1200 for S/H if you cannot find a local in australia because of packaging and weight. You can get good prices and mobility with Jazzy 600 by Pride, you can buy used one for $1200 to $2400 brand new cost $3700up. My boss had an old Jazzy 1100 and this model is still good mobility - can find used one for as low as $400 - $600.
Really want to know are we best on the jubilee line or driving in, if so where is best to park and where would be best to view the evenings events?
thanks
Not a good idea !!!
I haven't been recently, but the last time I did, it was a horrible crush !! Even for an able-bodied person, it was extremely difficult to move around. I would not take my wife there, simply because she, too, is disabled.
For the last few years, as I recall, some of the closer tube stations have been closed.
And even if your friend has a "blue badge", you will find it impossible to park anywhere close.
Stay at home with a few brews, and watch it on the goggle-box !!

I use a wheelchair. I have been working successfully as a Mac support technician at independent Mac dealers for a number of years. I am looking for a new position. I was curious as to whether any wheelchair user has worked as a Mac Genius, or any Apple Store customer has been served by or seen a Mac Genius who is a wheelchair user.
being in a wheelchair shouldn;t prevent you from getting a job anywhere your skills are in demand and there is a job opening- that would be discrimination
I'm in a wheelchair and lately every time I sit at the computer my arms and legs fall asleep constantly. It's so annoying and uncomfortable. I was just wondering if there was a way to prevent this from happening so much? Maybe a certain position to sit in? I move around in my seat a lot but nothing works. Or ways to make the tingling feeling go away faster? Is there any medication that can be taken to make blood circulation flow better?
It is all about the wheelchair cushion. If your legs are falling asleep this means you are not paralyzed. People who are paralyzed have a bigger problem than feet falling asleep. They have a high risk of pressure sores due to circulation issues and can not feel it coming on. There are many high quality cushions made to minimize circulatory problems. My guess is that you probably have an inexpensive foam cushion, which is older and bottoming out. You can go for a Gel cushion an air cushion or a combination product. I suggest that you read the link below about wheelchair cushions and invest in a quality wheelchair cushion.
