Where can I find a wheelchair that has a leg rest?

For example...if I had a broken leg, where would I find a wheelchair that would have a rest for my leg & not just the ones for the feet?

any place that you would get a wheelchair with the regular rests should also have the ones that hold the back of your leg too. they connect to the chair the exact same way as the other ones.

You are travelling with a group of 12 in which 8 are in wheelchairs, the rest are leg amputees.?

5 of the one in wheelchair can't walk
3 can a little
And you find your accommdation on the 4 floor in a place with no lifts.

I would start by laughing uncontrollably for maybe 15 minutes when told where our rooms are. Because I find ridiculous situations really funny. then I would call the travel agent give them hell and get the rooms changes or go to another hotel.
I would have our baggage checked until our rooms can be fixed and take everyone to the first event on the agenda. I'm not holding up travel plans for something silly like this.

im tired of walking, i just wanna ride a wheelchair for the rest of my life?

im tired, everytime i take a step my shins hurt like crazy. i know its not because of muscles or lack of excerise, i get plenty. i just wanna ride a wheelchair. like is there anything i can do to my spine to paralys my legs? so id have a reason to ride a wheelchair?

You don't have to be paralyzed to be able to use a wheelchair.

If you're serious and you want to use a wheelchair, go onto ebay or some other auction site. Or find another way of getting a 2nd hand wheelchair then just use it.

I would advise that you go to your doctor though. I don't know how old you are but your shin pain sounds (from the little information provided) like it could be shin splints. Basically that's when you do so much exercise while the bone is developing that you slightly damage the front of the tibia (shin bone). It will take rest, gentle exercise and you'll be back to normal in a few months. Your doctor will be able to refer you to a physiotherapist if that's what it is.

Also, if your doctor agrees that using a wheelchair is the best thing for you then they will sign the form so you can have a parking badge, which would make getting about with a wheelchair so much easier.

if you break your back you'r in a wheelchair for the rest of your life?

is this just an old wives tale or is it true?if so why is it so different from a broken leg?

It just depends on the extent of the damage. Your spinal cord is back in that area and if you damage that bad enough you will be in a wheelchair for the rest of your life or until you have completed extensive rehab. It is very different from other broken bones because your spinal column is in your back.

What is the defect that people get where their legs and feet are smaller than the rest of their body?

They are often in a wheelchair.

There are two known conditions that come to mind...

1) Dwarfism
2) Thalidomide poisoning...thalidomide was used as a chemical in the 1960's to help prevent morning sickness. As it turned out, the chemical was found to cause serious birth defects, including this and others.

  • Power Chair - Features And Capabilities | Go Wheelchairs!

A power chair is a wheelchair that is electronically controlled. They are useful for people who have limited mobility. Many of them are able to be used inside, outside, or both. Moreover, they come in center or rear wheel drive making them easily maneuverable. With so many features, you can consider each of your needs to find the perfect chair for you.

The first set of features that you should consider when looking at getting a power chair involves travel. There are a few types of power chair s that fold up and that don't weight much. These work well for traveling, putting the chair in the car, and even help with storage issues. However, they offer few comfort features so are not ideal if you won't be putting your chair in the car often.
