Where can I find jeans for a child in a wheelchair that have a thin seam that won't cause pressure sores?

I am having a horrible time finding a pair of jeans for my 10 year old son. We always wear nylon track pants or khaki pants but we really want to find him some jeans to wear. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas!

Where do they generate the sores at? Maybe the question is more of a proper seating issue, or a skin protection issue.

Another option is to buy over-sized jeans and tailor them for a good-looking fit while still being loose where the seams cause problems.

Or, slightly over-sized jeans with a liner sewn in

Or slightly over-sized jeans with a soft strip of material on the back of the seams

Or have someone cut the back of the jeans out and replace it with a softer, somewhat stretchy material. Our seamstress at work does this when needed- it is a lot of work, but works nicely.

How could you help a person in a wheelchair to try on a pair of jeans?

It depends on the person in the wheelchair.

If they are able to dress themselves then they won't need 'help' but might appreciate companionship while shopping, the same as anyone else.

If they need some help then they will be able to explain what needs doing and how, they'll talk you through it.

If they need to be dressed on a bed or changing table then choosing what looks good on a hanger, buying it, trying it at home then returning whatever doesn't fit or they don't like on is the best option. As long as the labels remain intact the store should take the clothes back and give a full refund.

Best advice is to ask the disabled person. They'll be able to tell you what they want in terms of help.

im looking for jeans, slack's and dress paint that made higher for wheelchair patenits?

Most nursing homes offer services for what your looking for try a nursing home they will probably give you some good advice. I know this because I worked in one for many many years. Don't you just hate looking for speacial need clothing?

I am in a wheelchair all the time, I need advice on what to wear.?

I am a size 10-12. I always wear jeans and a tshirt! Sitting down makes me look fat.

ok size 10-12 is not fat sitting down or whatever. Be pround of who you are xx

im 15 and im 5'6. what size jeans should i wear?

i have never really worn jeans before because i never could find a pair that fit, and they would bunch up from sitting in my wheelchair, but now that im in highschool, i want to be wearing jeans too. so, im 5'6 and im 15 and im not fat or skinny. i have muscles from physical therapy. so, why size do you guys think i should be wearing?
i would try a ton on, but i cant stand! i just wanted to hear your guys opinions about it. its hard because im sitting all day, so my thighs are always like flat on the chair. so when i try on clothes, they cant go all the way, but if i press up, my thighs get thinner, but i cant always do that. i would need help. another problem is belts. the belt never stays on the jeans in the back, it goes above it, so thats really no help. : )

If you have to shop by yourself I'd just buy several sizes that seem like they might fit you and then try them on at home where you have help getting dressed. Return the sizes that don't fit and buy more of the one that does.
