Could anyone guide me as to what sites I can look into in finding various wheelchair activities?

I'm in Northern VA and am looking for outdoor track/field events. Thanks :)

Does anyone have the user manual for The Genie Standing Wheelchair?

If anyone has the users manual or even a simple guide on how to get it running please send it to me. Or perhaps someone knows where I might be able to download it from. Here are the details of the wheelchair http://www.easycareproducts.co.uk/genie. htm
I tried searching for it on google, to no avail. I also tried easycareproducts.co.uk.

Thank you in advance!

I take care of a woman with MS. How can I help her get comfortable in her automatic wheelchair??

Everytime I help her reposition it takes sometimes a half hour to get her situated. Even then she isn't comfortable...she just says "it'll work." We have tried everything. She was fitted for her current chair at Walgreens...but they did a terrible job. She can barely stand it anymore. There has to be someone out there that is in the same situation that can guide me in the right direction. She is in a wheelchair 24/7....is it that hard to ask to be able to get her comfortable? Someone...please help.

As a chair user myself, the first problem most likely is she was not fitted correctly. Most chair users are fitted and measured by suppliers that are certified to do this. There are many options available to help position someone in a wheelchair ie, head rests, lateral supports etc. The best option would be to make an appoinment with a seating clinic that can evaluate what is needed to help in positioning. Hope this helps.

Guiding Light... why is Alexandra in a wheelchair?

Was this addressed in an episode I missed or something?

According to celebrating the soaps.com:

Marj Dusay (Alexandra Spaulding, Guiding Light) is slowly but surely healing from a recent ankle injury. Dusay can currently be seen using a motorized scooter onscreen as Alex.

Have a simple wheelchair repair kit handy at all times, even when you are away from home. Remember that old Boy Scout motto: "Be Prepared". Create your repair kit with items like a screwdriver (make sure you have both regular and philips-head if your chair uses both kinds of screws), an adjustable wrench, pliers, and a tire-changing kit. With these simple items, whether you have wheel problems, need to tighten a bolt or screw, or even change a tire, you will be ready!

Does your wheelchair have any adjustable straps on the back? They can become loose over time and need regular adjusting. The seat upholstery may sag over time, which an affect your posture, as well as bend the seat cushion....
