He will probably come back in a couple of weeks...
The definition of "pulling a Paulie" is:
Faking an injury, crying like a baby, going to the locker room on a wheelchair and then coming back after 1 minute.....

More specific, are there assisted living centers or rehabilitation centers that will buy used wheel chairs?
Facilities rarely buy chairs- we get them donated all the time and usually cannot even use those.
Your state's Assistive Technology Project, League of Human Dignity, or other advocacy group may run a program for used stuff, but most of them prefer free stuff.
You need to remember that most special needs chair users will get a chair for free from the state or insurance, so there is not much of a market for used ones.
I know it is frustrating, but a chair that ran tens of thousands of dollars new has a resale value, in most cases, of only a couple hundred bucks at most.

I would say there was. My wife and I went when she was 6 months pregnant and couldn't really do any of the active stuff and we still had a lovely time. You have to pay for so much of the additional stuff anyway. Plus, if I remember correctly the disabled cabins looked quite well positioned and very central which is always useful. I think you would really enjoy it.
I have to have shoulder surgery. I am confined to a wheelchair. I have to find a good rehab center for after surgery. I am terrified of rehab centers. Was in one and broke my hip while doing physical therapy. Was in another and forced me into accepting wheelchair. I walked with crutches and braces up until then. Having very hard time accepting the possibility of even going into a rehab center. I need to find a good, caring place. Help please.
When I broke my back in 93 I chose to go to University of New England, very caring people,I got to swim in the olympic size swimming pool among other exercises but they were really careful and had a great plan for me they also except mainecare if your down on money.I believe the same two of my favorites are still there Berry and Karen maybe others as well,I HIGHLY recommend UNE Health Center!GO UNE! Let me know if you go there. If you need more info let me know, they never did anything to comprimise my back in any way. Joyce

Seeding Change: Reflections on Workforce Investment Act (WIA ...
On October 1, 2009, I had the privilege of participating in a USDOL national listening session on how the reauthorization of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) can be used as an opportunity to improve the ability of the workforce system to serve jobseekers with disabilities. According to the Labor Department’s press release, over 700 people participated either in person or via webinar, an indication both that people think WIA reauthorization may actually happen in the year ahead, after several years where it has not been a priority issue, and that there are many opinions of how the One Stops and workforce system can be more responsive to people with disabilities. First, it was exciting...
