Wheelchair Bus

Today as soon as i deploy the lift, they started complaining, just like that. Dont they realize that they can be in that wheelchair someday?

because it takes time. but i think it is good that buses accommodate people with disabilities. It's got to be very hard to be a person in that sitiuation.

first and second bus, the ramp would not deport. third one held a woman who would not fold her buggy down even though it held only shopping!!!!! she did have the toddler in her arms but surely the bus driver should have shown authority and made room for the wheelchair. shouldnt he?

By law.... yes they are supposed too, if next time you take public transport, something like that happens again, try to get the drivers name and the registration number of the bus he/she was driving......and also the time and date, then report them, because what they did was descrimination.....no more no less

The woman that refused to move her pram was just flat out rude and should have been removed from the bus altogether, im sorry that things were so difficult for you....i hope that people act a little more appropriately next time.....

another seat while many other people where standing including a man who needed a seat. I said to another woman that becaue the bus was crowd he should have sat in his wheelchair.

On the public transport I use many wheelchair users stay in their wheelchairs while riding. I guess maybe there was a safety issue for the gentlemen, perhaps he didn't feel comfortable or safe in his chair while the bus was in motion.

I'm sure the fellow had his reasons. Sometimes I end up standing on crowded buses, my balance in a moving bus isn't the best but I do what I can. Sometimes people offer me a seat, many times they don't, and sometimes there are people who need it far more that I do. All I can say is mellow out, hang on, and don't worry too much. It isn't worth is stressing out over things on a bus, it won't get you there any faster.

Need wheelchair accessible bus transportation to get to and from work

I'm sure that most of the bus routes in Westchester County are wheelchair accessible. I know that the #5 bus goes to White Plains, however I don't know what bus to transfer to (the Bee Line Bus map is notoriously hard to read). I believe you can transfer to the #60 bus as it runs close to the Court House. If that is too circuitous for you, contact Bee Line Para-Transit. They have wheelchair accessible buses that will take you curb-to-curb straight to the Court House and back home whenever you need to go. It's a shared ride program, so you might not get the bus all to yourself, but you can schedule rides in advance to fit your schedule.
