going to go on a date with a girl in a wheelchair?
~ Willing to make an effort~

well shes not permanetly in a wheelchair but im going to be going on a date with her while she is. so my question is where do we go what do we do. i would usually go bowling so we could have a drink and fun and not have so much one on one time so there is non of those awkward moments. any ideas where i can do something like that where i wont have any awkward moments? im stumped!

Going to the cinema would be a nice idea, and maybe before you go there, get something to eat somewhere

I don't know how badly her situation is, but in the cinema at least you can sit right? and when going somewhere to eat, she doesn't have to get out of the wheelchair

How to deal with a crunchy nutter?
2011 Paralyzed Veterans Awareness Month: Sioux Falls, SD

Whilst recently driving through the town, i came across the most disturbing of images: A man so obsessed with cereal that the was driving through the bus lane to get home for a bowl of what i have heard to be named "crunchy nut". So enraged was i, that this an would drive in a space allocated for the supirior race that is "The Bus Driver" that i swerved to collide with him. Once he had later regained conciousness i began to preach to him about the wonderful simplicity of toast in the morning. There was a lot of crying but ultimately I feel I have done the right thing. One question. Should I feel bad that he is now in a wheelchair with severe breakage of the spine as a result of only eating toast and having fits on his kitchen floor (ceramic tiles enhanced his pain)????? Thanks in advance for your help
guys

Haha don't feel bad man. Just make him eat some more cereal. With toast on the side of course. And maybe throw some cushions on the kitchen floor for the next time he throws himself down to have a fit, it won't hurt so bad.
Haha, what the hell?

my son is in a wheelchair.?
Virginia: Mid-Atlantic Chapter PVA Awareness 2010

i wont to know what can i do with him far as wear we can go or things him an i can do so he can have a good time bowling dosent help because he cant walk or use his hands that good an he is to old for chuckie chesse and he dont like video games his mortor skills aer not that good but he talks verry well .

Look around for a local group for young wheelchair users....there are teams which play sports...although if your son cant use his hands well this may be tough...but there is always whhelchair dance....if there are none then start your own and get your son to help....you can put up posters and ask for those interested to contact you and when you start getting some responses then you can try to get sponsorship to help with running costs.
Ask your library and doc if there are any social groups running for people like you and your son...where they can go out together on day trips and be around kids in the same situation....good luck....wish I could help more.

what do you find funnier?

The IKAN ("I can") Bowler can enable virtually any wheelchair user to bowl dynamically (involving the movement of the wheelchair; not stationary ramp bowling) and the sport of dynamic wheelchair bowling is legitimate, says the United States Bowling Congress (USBC). The USBC sanctioned the IKAN Bowler for league and tournament play -- any league or tournament anywhere in the U.S. -- bowling with and/or against able-bodied bowlers, or fellow IKAN Users. Since the IKAN Bowler is the only wheelchair bowling device sanctioned by the USBC (which is a merger of the Women's International Bowling Congress and the American Bowling Congress) for league or tournament play, records achieved bowling dynamically...
