Wheelchair Battery

Can I put a battery operated radio on my electric wheelchair, so I can extend a speaker that is electric?
the extended speaker is electric and i have to wire it in my wheelchair batteries, in other words I want to hear my surrounding without the headphones in my ears all the time

Haven't you asked something like this before? Why would you run the radio on its own batteries and let the speakers drain your chair batteries? You can get battery-powered speakers easily enough and they won't affect your chair's run-time.

In theory, if your speakers have an input port or jack, you can do this just by running a cable from the headphone jack to the import jack on the speakers.

If you wired in car speakers to your chair, you are pretty much on your own. You'll have to add an amplifier to jack the volume coming out of the radio high enough to play over the car speakers, and you'll have to have whoever wired the speakers up add an input jack of some sort.

I have rigged a lot of chairs up with sound systems that can play nice and loud without having to tap the chair's batteries. Load them with rechargeables, mount them near the headrest... sometimes you can even add a Bluetooth element so you can connect your cell phone to them.

The batteries in the chair are dead and my wife comes home from hospital tom'w. No time to get ones made for power wheelchairs.

A car battery will work for a while but a marine deep cycle battery would last longer.

i dont see a lever only a lever to turn the chair. i really need to get my wheelchair charging and i just want to get to the battery but cant because the plastic and i cant take off the plastic without taken the chair off. plz help. thank u.

Try themasker of the chair first ...then find a battery shop.. these shop have batteries for most any thing or can get one.. last resort try a dealer that sells your chair asnd see if they can get you one

I'm a disabled guy & plan to make some modifications to my power-wheelchair. Is there anyone who knows how to fit in a motorcycle engine or any kind of suitable engines into a power-wheelchair? I need to replace my battery as it keeps giving me problems which is quite unconvenient especially when I'm on the road.. & it's really really slow(slower than an average human walking speed).
Anyone with informations regarding the modifications will be a great help to me.

They generally make motorized wheelchairs fairly weak on power so that you don't accidentally flip them over or run people down with them.

Plus you won't be able to use it indoors if you put a gasoline motor on it.

If you are just going to use it outside - your best bet would be to get the motor (and possibly some other drive train components) from a ride-on lawnmower (or just buy a ride-on lawnmower, and take the blades, etc. off of it).

Rigging it up is either a skill you have, or don't have - I can make just about anything work - but I would have to actually see the chair you have in order to point you in the right direction.
