Two different questions.
Are there any back pads for wheelchairs? Sort of like the cushion for the bottom of the seat, but for the back. Reason I ask is because the back of my wheelchair gives a little (instead of being firm/straight, it bends), I'd imagine most custom manual wheelchairs are like this for comfort reasons but it makes good posture completely impossible because you're leaning back a little 24/7 + I have a minor gut and it looks 1000x worse than it is due to leaning back.
Backpacks/etc: I've seen special "wheelchair bags" that you attach to the back of your wheelchair. But I don't know where to buy those that isn't online (I want to see the bag in person, some things you just can't judge from pictures). Does anyone use regular backpacks? How does that work out for you?
jd: i am truly sorry about your situation (not getting out). i am not too bad off and if i could give you half of my [whatever] i would in a heartbeat.
a small bag will not work for me because i get out ~every other day alone and would like to make the trips more daring (i just get dropped off to the gym, sometimes wheeling myself home). i have been using a plastic bag affixed to the back of my chair to carry my gym stuff lol, but the point is a plastic bag can be ripped right off if someone so chose so more independent trips where things of more value would be brought a plastic bag is insufficient.
i have invacare too but i got just a manual wheelchair, i guess i could have gotten a motorized/non-manual one but im young and those didnt/dont appeal to me for i think obvious reasons. i didnt know there were different backs that can be bought from invacare, i will check those out.
the term "medical devices shop" was key and will help me search for stores like that around my area.
Backpads - I'm assuming you're talking about a manual folding wheelchair? I've never seen any back pads, but I bet someone could make one easily enough out of hardboard and adding something to one edge so it could hang on the back and then put some nice padding on it for comfort. My son uses a motorized wheelchair mostly, and that has a firm back.
Backpacks - My son has the wheelchair bags, but these came from the company that manufactured his various wheelchairs. They are ok, but tend to be flimsy and little more than fabric bags. For serious use, he does use a regular backpack which we toss onto the back of his wheelchair, just looping the straps over each corner. The regular backpack works great.
Hope this helps even though I'm sure that it's somewhat different equipment involved.
I'd recommend going to a medical devices shop and see what they have laying about. There's LOTS of room for improvement in the adaptation equipment field.... I think we have far to go.
Best of luck.

Hello guys!
I'm a 29 y.o guy. A double above the knee ammputee after accident in 1997. I use prosthetic legs and also a wheelchair (because my amputation level is very high) For about a year I experience a lot of pain in my back. When I was using my old wheelchair, which had narrow back cushion, that provoked my muscles to become weak. Now even whenever I wake up, I would get very sore back, especially a lot between shoulder-blades. Very often It is hard to make an inhale, because it feels like something is compressed inside. I'm feeling very tired in the morning time, get a little better during the day time. My eyes are dried out because of that I guess. Would you recommend anything to ease my condition, as I'm in search for the right answer.
Thank you!
My friend this is hard for anyone to be able to answer your question especially on the web . My suggestion is that you should seek a physical therapist's opinion because of your condition I am not even sure why you have dry eyes perhaps you should seek the advice of your doctor on that . Good luck buddy and have great day .

This one is too hard and it makes me ache from my knees to the middle of my back!
Get Roho. They are a tad expensive, but oh my, it is so wonderful. It is full of air and eliminates pressure sores (which is a problem with people who have to sit all day) and it is much more comfortable and doesn't make your back as sore. I am a paraplegic, paralyzed from the waist down, due to a drunk driver hitting me when I was three (I am now a teen). I just ordered a new wheelchair with a this new seat and it is so amazing. You should really consider it.
I bought a wheelchair cushion for my dads chair on ebay, the description of the cushion was that it was brand new, but the thing is a total piece of crap, it even has a few rips in it. The person that sold it ls a liar and I want my money back. Please help me out with some decent advice.

In that case, contact the seller and politely request a refund. When they refuse, go to the PayPal page for that transaction and way down at the bottom of the page there will be a link to their "Resolution Center." Click it and follow the instructions to start a "Dispute."
Be aware, however, that PayPal moves VERY slowly, so, although you will get your money back it may take a month, or even more!
Good luck, and the link below is to the "Buyer Protections" part of their User Agreement, and your case is what they call "Significantly Not as Described"...
When I was 14, a freshman...In P.E.we were playing indoor soccer(not the best game huh?). Me and my friend both went for the ball and we collided, we hit heads. I fell back and hit the ground, directly on my butt. He regained his balance and did not fall. I was knocked out for only a few seconds and I regained consciousness. I tried to get up, but I couldn't, it hurt and my P.E. teacher ran up to me and told me to try to get up slowly when I was ready to move. I finally got up and I got some water and I sat off to the side. All of a sudden, it started to hurt very very badly and I just started crying. It didn't hurt me bad enough to cry, but I did. I got dressed back into my clothes and I started being unable to walk. They called my mom and I was taken to the car in a wheelchair and my mom drove me to the hospital and I had gotten x-rayed on. Our hospital is by far the worst hospital after this experience. They said they could not see anything in the x-ray, that is utterly ridiculous, they told me it was bruised. They gave me NO pain medicine or any help for it. All they told me was to sit on a cushion and not to move much. 5 months away from a year later, The pain is back. I felt perfectly fine when I woke up, I went to school, but when I got out of the car...the pain just struck me all of a sudden. I didn't know what to do so I just went to my classes until Foods. I had enough of the pain and I called home. The pain is all over my lower my lower back, It is very hard to walk, I can barely even use the bathroom or roll over in the bed. I am a 15 year old female.
Thanks everyone : ) and yeah Sim, it does suck big hairy donkey testicles.
