Wheelchair Accessible

I am looking for some spectacular vacation spots to travel to but I always run into the problem that I am in a wheelchair and all the places I am interested in are not wheelchair accessible. So does anyone know where I can go on vacation and still have some awesome views of mountains or lakes and have a good time?

Yellowstone National Park was beautiful, and had boardwalks to most of the geysers and waterfalls. Have fun!

I bought two tickets on Stub-Hub for me and my son and found out when they arrived that they are in a wheelchair accessible section. Will we be allowed to sit there?

Yes, But if someone in a wheelchair needs a seat in that section and you guys dont need a wheel chair, They have priorty. It can be a great thing because this happend to me and my buddies at shea staduim and they moved us to a field box...Dont worry they have it planned out if something like that was to happen!

I take NJ Transit to Penn often and usually take the stairs/escalators onto 7th ave. I'll be traveling with someone in a wheelchair and it just dawned on me as much as I know Penn is fully accessible, I don't know where the street exits are for this purpose? Obviously I can just ask and follow the signs when we get there, but my friend isn't used to traveling via mass transit and would like to have everything all planned out ahead of time. Thanks!

You could also ask bus driver, Long Island Railroad, or New Jersey Transit employee or subway employees for New Jersey Transit accessible station.
I think it will be around 33rd St bet. 7th & 8th Avs I think.

There is a very popular small mountain near the city I live. The easy trail to the top is very wide and flat in most places and would easily be wheelchair accessible. There are some parts that would need work but I think it might be a good project. I worked at a summer camp for kids with special needs this summer and this mountain is very close to the camp. It would be amazing if someday the kids here could climb a mountain. I just don't know how to go about doing this. Any ideas?

First you need to contact whomever owns the property. Talk with them perhaps you could get something going as a community improvement project.

I'm designing a house right now which needs to be wheelchair accessible. The dimensions of the main bathroom are 9'9.5" x 8'11".

That's a pretty big bathroom and I probably don't need that much space for wheelchair accessibility. What should I shrink the size of the bathroom to..? (But still having enough room for a wheelchair in there?)
