Van Wheelchair

I am going to have to buy a van for my husband who needs to have a power wheelchair. I'm not sure if I need to buy a van thats already wheelchair accessible(which is more expensive) or if I can just buy a regular min van and buy the ramps for him to get in. I'm just not sure if the height is high enough for him to drive into the van? The wheelchair looks like one of those hover rounds chairs.

If he can walk a little there are liftes that can be put in the back you use the back door.If not you will need to get a conversion van Fr more head room they also make liftes for side doors.

I use a wheelchair due to a birth defect called spina bifida.
I am going through VR services for the disabled getting drivers reeducation and an euipt van. My problem they will only pay 15.000 on a 30.,00 van and expect the client to come up with the other half, this just is not possiable for my family. Would anyone know of other grants or programs that might help purchase the van so I might finish my degree and work?

I became disabled following an operation 2 years ago & have very limited ambulation with a walker. I also have a severely handicapped adult step-son who is confined to a wheelchair and is completely non-ambulatory.

I am looking to purchase a good used mini-van to install a wheelchair lift into.

My wife has a friend whose husband has been disabled for many years & he swears that the only van that he is able to scoot off his scooter into is a Toyota Sienna ?

Consumer Reports apparently rates the 2005 Toyota Sienna very highly but Edmunds rates the 2001-2006 Honda Odyssey very highly ?

I have found 2004-2005 models of the above vans with 25,000-35,000 miles on them.
