Transport Wheelchair

My mom has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy which has made her week and tired. We are going to her granddaughters college graduation in a week and I'm looking for a lightweight portable wheelchair.

You can check in the yellow pages under medical equipment. They often rent equipment. Also, check with local churches or veterans groups as they often have them to borrow.
You could also try the college itself- you never know what they might have in their health center!!!

A friend of mine got this chair for me at an auction and the footrests were missing. This particular chair normally comes with the footrests so I'm having a hard time finding anywhere on-line that sells replacement footrests. I do have a local medical supply store trying to look for me as well. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions! Thanks

We got my mother a motorized wheel chair from a private owner, only to find that it weighed too much to transport in a regular van. We had to hire a trucking company to deliver it to her. Now my mother isn't needing that chair but my mother in law is. What would be the easiest and cheapest way to transfer this chair from Florida to Iowa?

I am planning on starting my own wheelchair transport company soon.I drove for a company for awhile,and there is good money in it.I'm also apparently not good at typing the right keywords in to get the info.Anyone know,for example,how much insurance is required (I am targeting the VA,huge business)Any other tips?I worked the Army 20 years,no difficult paperwork.I was a construction contractor 17 years after that.Not very difficult.I imagine dealing with medical patients and govt agencies will be a LOT of paperwork.Anybody perchance in that business?I know I won't get all answers needed here,and thankfully my wife loves paperwork.But I'm trying to gather as much info as possible to be ready.Plan to start it 1st of the year.Darn sick of being retired,Too old to go have a teenager be my boss.I can drive,the vets loved to have a fellow vet to talk to,but,when I drove before,I simply paid the lease(650 a wk)and had no paperwork to do,other than get signatures of customers.So,any tips?
