In what sport would a amputees competed against some in a wheelchair and other athlete with Cerebral Palsy?

Amputees compete in wheelchair basketball and volleyball, and swimming. They also compete in track events with prosthetics... There are probably more, but that's what I know off the top of my head. You can compete in practically anything as an amputee, in a wheelchair or with CP.

Where can I find a sponsor or battery donor for my wheelchair sport?

I volunteer my time building and fixing power wheelchair equipment for a sport called Power Soccer as part of a non-profit organization. I have had some luck finding used and donated sources for some parts, except for batteries. Wheelchair batteries are vital to compete in this sport, and a new set of batteries costs about $300. Are there any companies or organizations out there that would help?
I know precisely which batteries are correct, and I normally buy them online. I can't find any local stores willing to give away or significantly discount their most expensive batteries. Any other ideas would be very welcome!

Typical wheelchair batteries are basically just deep-discharge batteries in a few common sizes. Talk to local battery stores and see if they can help.

What colours go well on a sports wheelchair?

I am a boy getting my first basketball wheelchair and need good ideas on colours for it?

I always like the sleek, clean lines of a brushed metal finish with black accessories. That way the chair looks cool but you are the attention grabber. You can always get accessories to match, the chair finish is hard to damage (doesn't chip and hard to scratch) and it will go with whatever colour your sport kit is.

where could i get a sport wheelchair donated for my son he has spinal bifida.?

please help me he really needs one thank you

If you're in the United States, then see if there's a Community Action Agency near you. If they can't help, they might be able to help you find the right agency to help.

  • Media dis&dat: Virginia opens Wheelchair Tennis Training Center

I have studied the media for almost 20 years and this blog is about my research interest: the media and disability. The media have real power to define what the public knows about disability and that's what I investigate. I am also a writer and media watcher. In addition, I want to use this blog to create a database of media stories on disability topics from around the world.
