We have a Rascal power wheelchair. We need to know what type(s) of vehicles we can put a power lift into. My mother, age 80, will be driving so would like as small a vehicle as possible.

This depends a LOT on details, but some basics would be...
Automatic door- about $1,000 installed if no complications.
Alert chimes- about $200
Ramps- about $500 for a short one, up to a few thousand for a longer one
Modified bathrooms can be cheap- under $300, to really expensive at over $10,000 depending on the mods needed

Check out PETA. They will give you some small, out of the way non-profit orgaizations that don't test on animals. And no, hospitals will not help you find the small ones. They don't pay the most money. And the bigger the corporation, the more corrupt. It's all about coporate alliance and money at that end. Look up alternative medicine on Google and when you find places that peak your interest, ask them if there are any non-profit organizations they would recommend.
ok so i just broke my ankle, but i cant get it casted until Tuesday. And tomarrow is halloween. And i AM going trick or treating. but i have to use a wheel chair. My mom got me one but the back wheels are really small so i cant push myself i think. And i don't want to be pushed the entire night, and my friends wont push my all night either!
So is there any way i can push myself in it?

I guess it all depends on the definition of barrier free. Even in the newest of stations, there is often one elevator located at one end of the platform (there are some where it is properly placed in the middle). It's still difficult for a wheelchair user to get from one end to the other when everyone is trying to get off or on to a train. In addition, many people with suitcases choose to use the single elevator thus hogging it for people who really need it. And this being Germany, you rarely get someone offering to let the wheelchair users go first. That's why one has to always alert the DB staff well in advance so that train connections can be made and assistance offered if necessary....
