Something makeshift that might be around the house maybe? Towels have not worked very well so far.

If I'm on a long flight, my butt starts to hurt after about 4 hours or so. Can anyone recommend any cushions or gel pads or something that make your seat more comfortable during a long flight?

about the best you can do without bringing to much on your carrry-on is to ask the flight attendant to let you have a couple of pillows.
Sorry, a painful butt is just par for the course on long flights.

I have a women's Schwinn bicycle that rides great, but the seat if very uncomfortable. I was looking around and found a saddle style seat with gel cushions on it and wondered if anyone had this? Do you like it?

I have purchased more saddles than I want to admit to, looking for the perfect match for my bottom. Found a local bike shop that allows for 30 day returns on saddles if they do not work out. I am now the proud and very happy owner of a Terry Butterfly saddle. Prior to this saddle I was not able to ride 10 miles without discomfort and pain that lasted for days....even with high quality bike shorts. I am now able do 20+ mile rides 5-6 days a week with no discomfort that lasts longer than an hour off the bike. I am one happy biker chick. It is a pricey saddle that I wish I would have tried sooner..

i'm looking for a professional one, and i found plenty at 1800wheelchais.com but dont know which is best... air, gel, foam... any ideeas?

I used to work as a nurse and for people who had this issue, we used the very expensive gel pads..the thick ones, and those seemed to be best at both preventing pain and keeping the person from getting open areas from prolonged sitting.

I have a mountain bike that I don't get much use out of for the simple fact that when I ride for more than 10 minutes, it makes my butt really sore. I got a gel seat cushion cover that I put over my seat that is supposed to help but it doesn't. I'd love to bike for long periods of time for exercise but this is problem preventing me from doing so. Any suggestions?

could be insufficient butt training
or a wrongly shaped for you, seat
or a misadjusted seat
gel covers aren;t necessarily the answer, you have to define the problem first
