Why does it seem like more and more people are using motorized scooters and wheelchairs?
the motorized shopper

I was at Disneyland yesterday and it seemed like 1/3 of the crowd was in motorized scooters or wheel chairs. There were definitely people who needed them, but I also saw a lot of obese people scooting around who didn't seem to have any other ailments other than not wanting to stand/walk. I also saw a lot of kids in wheelchairs (I guess you can rent them at Disneyland) but they didn't look hurt, in fact some were having wheel chair races.

OMG! Too funny! I was JUST looking out my window and I saw 2 people zooming down the middle of the street (illegal, by the way)on their motorized scooters! I live in the downtown area of my city and I can't believe the number of people with those things. If they really need it, then it's good that they have them, but I do see a lot of obese people with them. I can't help but think that they're only making their weight problems worse by eliminating the exercise they would get from WALKING! I'm not making any judgements against obese people. I myself was once considered "morbidly obese" and I had gastric bypass surgery, so trust me, I know the importance of exercise. If I hadn't exercised when I was my heaviest, I can only imagine how much bigger I would have been at the time!
Oops, got a little off topic there. While I'm sure a lot of people NEED those scooters, there are also many that don't. I also resent the fact that most people with those scooters are just downright rude when out in public. I've never heard "excuse me", only "hey!", or the beep of their little horns.

What had happened?! seconds ago I was on a laptop outside untill a woman in a motorized scooter came up and?

(the wheelchair scooter by the way...) and she said that her daughter is in a hospital and that her credit card is denied and that she really needed 15 dollars. It seemed that she was almost about to cry for a second. Half of me really thinks that she had made a dramatic act. I had only 8.50 in my wallet. And half a five dollar bill. I gave that to her.She had thanked me and also wanted to know the price of the laptop and had started talking about laptops. She then had "blessed me", many times in fact. I can't help feel that I have been conned. And then she wanted my phone number so she can give the money back. I had then saw her go back to the sidewalk and to some person. And had continued to walk with her. I can't help wonder if that was all a trick. Right now, I feel more motovation to start working. (im 17)
This is the first time something like this had happened to me. To be honest ALOT had happened for the first time this year. Most of which were extremly negative.
she also had said that her other daughter is out of town....

....talk about not thinking critically...I just can't help thinking that I had been conned.

sounds like she conned you, walked down the street and bought some dope or something. in general i do not give money to people on the street but if i do i keep in mind the more they got to say its usually the more lies they got to tell you. they done it so many times that they just keep throwin out bait till you bite then they reel you in. you got to figure that someone who is "really" just tremporarily down on their luck or are just in a tempolrary emergency situation will first of all feel awkward approaching you because they have not rehearsed their whole spiel a thousand times and plus they truly probably are a little ashamed that they got themselves into that situation and wont persist to give you 15 minutes of b.s.. believe me dude i have lived in a big city all my life and i have heard em all. one guyu traded jokes for a dollar. that was original and i gave him the dollar. two weeks later he told me the same joke. i did not give him the extra dollar. a guy tried to sell me a 5 gallon bucket full of eggs that he had been lugging

Why is Deion Sanders riding a scooter?

Okay, so maybe I'm out of the loop. Has he become somehow disabled? Is he undergoing some type of surgery that causes him to stay off his feet as much as possible? I've seen several instances of him riding a motorized wheelchair scooter, like those for people with limited mobility. I've been looking around the net for a couple of hours and can't find anything, although I see he had a lawsuit about injuring someone with his scooter. Why is Deion Sanders in a limited mobility chair? This has been driving me crazy for the past week. I hope someone has the answers to this for me. Thank you!

its because due to lateral shrinkage of the cornele reflex located below the knee joint he has to relax his legs as much as possible. At least for a while until it gets sorted out. then he can go back to normal.

hope that answered your question

  • Do You Think That A Motorized Wheel Chair Scooter Is Your Thing?

    Scooter is an option.

    A few things to consider,

A few questions come to mind when we talk about what type of wheelchair, we will have to choose to think. One of the first things you need to do is see whether thestrength that you still have. Is your upper body strong enough to move about in a manual wheel chair or would it be better to go for a motorized chair.

Maybe it's not something you should decide by yourself and have a talk with your doctor and/or physical therapist so they can giver their advice concerning the right type of wheel chair. Other things that the professionals will probably think about are how the brakes on the different types of chairs will work and how they are placed. They will also reflect on how much help you need each day and what impact it choose the type of chair you.
