102910-AJC-Army-vs-Navy-wheelchair-basketball-09

I have looked everywhere! I need to move soon because I can't deal with my annoying neighbors much longer, complaining that nobody does as much laundry as I do. I suppose that's senoir citizens for you. PLEASE HELP ME! The following is everything that is required: Must be in
Macomb County Michigan,
2 bedrooms,
1.5 baths,
basement,
wheelchair accessible,

one floor,
all appliances,

I appreciate any effort in finding me a condo, I've just ran out of options and you guys are my last hope. I'm also open to any suggested sites where I can find this "imaginary" condo. Thanks!

Funding Sources for Wheelchair Accessible Van?
Detroit

Anyone know of funding sources for a wheelchair accessible van if you live in Michigan USA? Other than loans, what resources are out there if any?

http://www.mpas.org/AdvocacyServices.asp ?TOPIC=10116

you might want to try talking to an advocacy group like this one... They generally can help, and if they can't they have the resources to tell you where to go for help.....

http://www.advantagemobility.net/

You might actually try talking to someone at a wheelchair store, they might be able to give you information on what they have seen in the past and what they have worked with. It might seem like a lot of work, but try a couple different people to talk to and see if someone can't help, or if they know of anyone who might help in the area.

There were also a few links that I found that sounded like they were organizations that might help.....

united way normally has a wealth of information that even if they can't help you specifically.

Does anyone know of a place in Holland, Michigan where my 89 year old grandmother could try out a scooter?
Michael Detrot Greektown in wheelchair

Mt grandmother is in an assisted living in Zeeland, Michigan and she has had problems with her walking for years. She has been depending on a walker, but she has gotten to the point where the walker won't help. She tires really easily and it is a job just getting to the dining room. The assisted living has moved her to "level 2" care which means that they are keeping detailed notes on her and making a case for her to be moved to a full fledged nursing home. She is a little nervous about the idea of an electric wheelchair, so I thought that if we could take her someplace to test drive one, she might get excited about regaining some of her independence. Any ideas?

The only place I can think of is The Scooter Store. But I'm not sure how far or where Brockton Dr is from holland / zeeland area. Here is a link to them. Maybe you can check it out from there. I feel for your grandmother. My grandmother just had her knee completely replaced three days ago and is dreading going to a nursing home to recouperate. I dont blame her though, she has always been able to do everything for herself and is now pissed off that her body is wearing out on her. Good luck with your scooter search.
