Medical Cushion

A friend of mine is in their 30's and suffers from a problem when they sit, stand or bend, and causes terrible pain in their lower part of the body, where it makes you feel as if you have a UTI, and stabbing pains inside their lower part of the body. TGhey been to a Gyno and Urologist, cannot find anything, but the majority of the problem is from sitting, etc. Most chairs have no middle openings, need something like a toilet bowl seat, where the lower part has an opening, so anyone can suggest any kind of medical equipment, and what this might be? Just give me site names of places that carry what I am looking for. Thanks so much.

I have had a lot of surgeries on the lower portion of my back and I found that sitting on blow up tubes (the ones you use in the pool) were really helpful. If this is a long-term thing where your friend will need it for the rest of their life then I would recommend something a little less eye soaring. Try the website and good luck.

I am interviewing for an office position for the county in which I live. If I am selected for the position, I will need to submit to a pre-employment medical examination, including mandatory drug and alcohol testing. What does this entail? I am unable to find any information out anywhere and so don't know where else to turn. I am big on personal privacy and don't want to do it if there will be any gynecological stuff or anything. The job basically requires me to sit on my butt in a basic office so the only job related thing would be to examine my butt for adequate cushioning.

Most likely blood work and perhaps a urinalysis. In the extreme maybe a hair sample--which is to check for THC (a chemical in marijuana) which gets deposited in the hair. Perhaps also a very basic physical that would check for range of motion as well as maybe eye-exam or hearing test. I doubt you will encounter Dr. Jellyfinger...

Most diagnoses of syndromes or diseases involving the GQ1B antibody are neurological and can be identified on whatever is indicated on the EMG (which is that test where you are the equivalent of a pin cushion getting electrical changes). These include Guillian Barre' Syndrome and Chronic Inflammatory Demylinating Polyneuropathy. My EMG showed no abnormalities, however. My neurologist has to consider other tests and other conditions. I had a T5-L3 spinal fusion a year ago and I had fallen the other day. "long story short" I was sitting in a chair about a foot off the ground and fell forward onto my stomach on the floor. I was able to cushion some of the fall with my arms but did land on my stomach. I was able to get up without pain. A couple days latter I am a little sore but it doesn't get worse when i move around. I was just wondering if its anything that i should be concerned about.

Hi there i may not be a doctor expert but i have lived with my fused spine for the past 23 years now and have fallen a few times,i fell down stairs months after getting surgery 13 stairs in total and landed on concrete at the bottom,i landed flat on my back and just like you i was able to get up i even surprised myself!

and was very sore for about 2 weeks tender sort of pain when i walked but when i went for a check up my x-ray was fine nothing damaged but it hurt quite a lot when i landed on that concrete,a few years later i did it again this time halfway down stairs and twisted my back badly ouch!

but again x-rays were fine and it took weeks for it to fade away,but if your pain is bad get it x-rays for peace of mind but you should be fine and yes its normal for it to hurt for days afterwards,you are probably bruised and as it doesnt get worse with walking you should be ok but rest plenty.
