my grandma is handicapped..i need to find her a good and easy to transport wheelchair in addition to being light-weight. can anybody suggest me a link or some good product? thank you

TI Lite is a light weight brand (under 20 lbs) & Quickie makes several light chairs. Sport chairs are usually lighter than regular but they cost more & are ridgid frame (seat back folds down, frame doesnt collapse). Her Dr. should have advice on this or if she has a PT thats the best source for chair info. Try going to www.quickie.com

Suburb of Chicago: need light wheelchair, live on 2nd floor. Where do I find one, cheap or free?
ik zeg nog zo.... niet aan de ruiten likken

Friend suddenly had amputation. Can't move from 2nd floor apartment at this time. We can't carry her heavy wheelchair up the stairs, can't leave it downstairs, as there is no place to store it and she needs it all the time in her apartment.

I live in the chicagoland area as well. I don't know of a specific place to send you to. I think you should look through your local paper for people selling a wheelchair. It sounds like you need one of the ultra light folding wheelchairs. Talk to her physican or the local pharmacy. They should be able to guide you in the right direction to help you find something affordable. Her insurance may even cover it.

what is the best wheelchair for inside the house and is light weight?
Do Not Leave Garbage Here!

For someone with cancer, they are getting worse, it is hard to move them, but in a small house and it is hard to get around, and hard to lift the larger type chair into a car if you are not super strong

Kuschall do a number of lightweight wheelchairs. My husband has two. One folds easily but remains whole so when I am with him, I can easily put it in the boot of the car. The other folds and the wheels can be removed so he can take it apart himself when he is alone and put it on the seat next to him (he has an adapted vehicle).

I am doing a photo shoot and need to know how to set up lighting for a wheelchair?
Her first power wheelchair, pink metallic and of corse with matching shoes.

I just need to know how to set up my lights. I have 3 photogenics and I don't want the lights to show up in the reflection of the wheelchair.

You have to set up the correct lighting for the person in the chair!

To minimise reflections from metal parts of the chair, go to the camera store. Here you can buy a 'spray' which will dull the look of metal and so minimise reflections.

If you are just photographing a chair, can you do this in a 'white tent'? Or photograph it in a room with white walls and point your lights to the walls and photograph the chair just by the 'bounced' light.

i turn my electric wheelchair on and move the joystick but the light just flashes and it doesn't move?
Learning how to hit the cat

i have checked the motor connections...
i have already checked the battery and motor connections

- Is it tilted back? Many chairs do not run if tilted.

- Is one of the motor releases or clutches tripped at least some? If the lever or mechanism is partially engaged, the chair will not work.

- Are the batteries charged and holding charges well?

- Connections OK?- Joystick to wire, wire to control box, control box to motors?

- Any chance anything got wet, frozen, or too hot?

You can also call most chair vendors and tell them what the display on the joystick is showing- there is often a code there they can use to diagnose it.

Wheelchairs would be dangerous for open ride especially when users go out during dark night. “Roll Charge Light Protect” Project demonstrates a concept wheelchair that has lights for other people to notice the wheelchair, offering a remarkable safety system. This lights get power from movements of the wheels, thus, it is a good way to save energy. There are a set of LEDs under the wheel cover that glows brightly during the night. A magnet is helping generating electricity by rotating and the generated electricity is conveyed by the Coil to the LEDs. The wheel and the magnet are bridged with a Gear, protected by a Small Cover. The LCD panel shows readings about remaining amount of electricity and how long the user will be able to use it.
