For someone with cancer, they are getting worse, it is hard to move them, but in a small house and it is hard to get around, and hard to lift the larger type chair into a car if you are not super strong
Kuschall do a number of lightweight wheelchairs. My husband has two. One folds easily but remains whole so when I am with him, I can easily put it in the boot of the car. The other folds and the wheels can be removed so he can take it apart himself when he is alone and put it on the seat next to him (he has an adapted vehicle).

my grandma is handicapped..i need to find her a good and easy to transport wheelchair in addition to being light-weight. can anybody suggest me a link or some good product? thank you
TI Lite is a light weight brand (under 20 lbs) & Quickie makes several light chairs. Sport chairs are usually lighter than regular but they cost more & are ridgid frame (seat back folds down, frame doesnt collapse). Her Dr. should have advice on this or if she has a PT thats the best source for chair info. Try going to www.quickie.com

I need a very light weight cutter for chopping my plants down in winter. They dont make one light enough yet so who could i get to make me one? It needs to be long handled aswell as i am in a wheelchair. Hope someone can help.
Look for Japanese tools. Japanese hedge trimmers have long sharp blades and long handles. Some brands only weigh 1.5 pounds. They work well to cut down perennials and grasses. If you are looking for a power tool, there are cordless hedge trimmers but they are much heavier.
If you want to cut wood thicker than about 3/8", I really like the Florian ratchet mini loppers 2.5 pounds.

Hi! I am a 20-year-old from Asia who has not known the limitlessness of life until I met Tif, an outdoor American girl who brought me on bike rides and donkey rides. I have never travelled without my parents but would like to do so within the next year. Any suggestions?
Several issues include: wheelchair accessibility, accessible bathroom, backpacking tools, light-weight mobility equipments, options for transportation, cost? We have considered Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, China, and the Philippines... but we don't know if it is too difficult for us.
Also, what can we do to get sponsors and people to help? We're thinking of putting together an inspirational program and both of us can speak to inspire the local people. Please suggest!!!
I am an American male in good health and I find getting around in most Asian cities a real challenge, Not only do they not have handicapped accessible public bath rooms. they do not even have bath rooms.
There are very few places that you will find a sidewalk in the sense that we think of a sidewalk. If it is a sidewalk, there are vendors set up on it and people driving trucks on it.
The major cities of China do not fit this pattern. You can get around Beijing, Shenyang, Shenzhen very well. But public transport is not accessible. Forget about trying Bangkok or Manila.
But if you have enough grit , you can do anything. It really depends on your mind set.
Try it and love the adventure !
It's just that at various points during the day I have issues with catching a full breath of air. I'm wheelchair bound, but I also play a lot of World of Warcraft and I watch a lot of intense Dramas on TV. I'm thinking that it could just be stress.. Cuz WoW really pisses me off sometimes. What do you guys think?
I feel a light bit of weight on my chest sometimes, but no chest pain, no sweating, no tingling, no numbness, nothing growths, no clots, nothing to provide any symptoms of Heart Problems. What do you guys think?
First of all I would suggest talking to a doctor about this.
If I were looking at this though I would want to know if you have had any problems with asthma in the past. I would also be curious as to how much excercise you get. from your post, I'm assuming not very much at all.
As someone in a wheel chair it especially important to stay active and healthy, and sitting around day playing WoW and watching TV doesn't cut it.
Heart problems are always a possibilty, but I wouldnt jump the gun on that until you talk to a doctor. They will be able to more accurately assess your condition.

The Lightweight Wheelchair For You
There are many different wheelchair manufacturers offering lightweight manual wheelchairs. With so many manufacturers, types, options, and features it can be confusing when choosing the lightweight wheelchair for you. These wheelchairs come in three main types. You will be able to choose from a rigid, a folding or a titanium model manual wheelchair. Each has its advantages and disadvantages.
Rigid Lightweight wheelchairs are the ultra light of these particular types of wheelchairs. These keep their shape and you cannot fold them down, which makes them harder to store should you need to do that. However, with out nuts, bolts and hinges to allow the chair to fold up it is kept at the lightest weight possible. This is the type of wheelchair you choose if you are interested in going fast, doing sports with your chair, or you will not need to fold it up in order to take it with you. These chairs also come with many great customizable features such as push handles, flip-up armrests and even light up casters if you wish.
