Do They Make a Convertible Manual To Electric Wheelchairs?

I NEED A ELECTRIC CHAIR THAT WHEN THE POWER GOES I COULD USE IT LIKE A MANUAL WHEELCHAIR

Most electric wheelchairs have a switch to make them manual. They just aren't necessarily easy to push. There are also separate motor-systems you can attach to almost any manual wheelchair to make them electric. Some are almost as good as a normal electric wheelchair for indoor use.

Is it proper to keep telling a person they should get an electric wheelchair?

Some people act like it is such a chore to push me in the manual chair so they want me to get an electric one. I know it is difficult, but some like pushing me, despite the hard work, so I don't think I need one. I also have problems keeping my balance in those when they stop.

No, one should not tell this to anyone with special needs. They should respect the fact that one chooses the type of wheelchair they want or need and people should think nothing of it. Those that offer to push you (with your permission and acting) are using good manners, which is kind of like holding the door open and the like. Those that say that you should get an electric one all the time are not using good manners at all or being respectful to you.

why do wheelchair users get a different treatment in sociaty than others?

for example when you are standing and talking to someone in a wheelchair

any type of wheeled mobility device manual or electric or a wheelchair pushed by someone

try to think of any times you talked to someone in a wheelchair

please only answer truth fully and if you do not need a wheelchair to get around to live youre life

thanks for youre help and understanding

youre help is greatly appericated and kept confidential i will not spread it beyond yahoo answers

It all depends on the person. Like me for instance, I get treated differently because I'm small and have no limbs so people automatically assume I can't do anything at all or completely ignore me. I hate it because I can do some stuff, but it's just because I'm different. People don't know how to act. But if you get one of those with a disability who feel sorry for themselves and don't even try and let people give them special treatment. If I can do stuff so can they. You don't need limbs to do so. I hate people who take advantage of people who don't know.

Virtual world where i can be in a wheelchair?

i want to find a online virtual world where my character can be in a wheelchair.

it would be best if i could choose what sort, e.g. sport, electric, manual etc. and if i could specify my disability that would be good but if not thats ok.

i want to be able to SEE them wheeling around, unlike some crappy sites where everyone just stands there (well, i would sit there but . . . .)

it should be free for at least their basic account.

  • Wheelchair: Options for Electric Wheelchairs

Wheelchair the means of propulsion is by way of round steel tubes placed alongside the wheels. The individual would push these hand rims to provide movement of the chair. The electric wheelchairs are usually heavier then their manual counterparts as they must be more stable and stronger in order to hold the batteries and the motor.

The amount of sophistication which appears in today's modern electric wheelchairs varies significantly from the simple standard batteries employing a joy-stick controller to that of the microprocessor and robotic type circuitry which allows a wheelchair as they may contain hidden damages such as broken frames, defective motors or deteriorated batteries.
