we are planning a trip and we have someone going who uses a wheelchair. Is it easy to get around? He wants to go to the Vietnam Wall and Arlington Cemetary, and those are the first 2 on our list. Then it will be the Smithsonian. We are limited for time and I think these 3 will be all we have time for. Thank you.
i grew up near washington dc...you will have a blast...the museums are near each other and will be wheelchair accessible..there are elevators in the museums...the vietnam wall is outside so walking by it will be easy...and arlington cemetary from what i remember is on an upward hill so it might be kind of hard going up...i went there after pres. kennedy died...and so i was little and that may be why i remember the hill...but if you stay on the mall with the smithsonian you can see other museums there ...the frier gallery of art which has really gorgeous oriental art..there is an arboretum that is across the grass from the smithsonian that is really really nice...and from the smithsonian you can walk a couple of blocks to the white house...
so...have a great time....washington dc is soooo much fun....
