I've been hearing stories from friends about a person in a wheelchair going around small stores with a lawyer in California accusing many small stores that they do not allow enough space for them to get around. I heard the lawyer got his license taken away for abusing power but another lawyer and a supposed disabled person is doing it again. Is this story seriously true? Is there any websites I can read this story from?
This is actually a true story. As with any kind of regulation or law, there is always the chance someone will figure out a way to abuse it. The individual I recall was barred from filing any more lawsuits (albeit in only one of the court districts) due to his prolific 'rubber stamp' type lawsuits. I'm not sure if he was claiming to be some kind of 'crusader' or if he was only in it for the money, but the attorney in question was also barred from filing more suits.

I have been given two wheelchair area tickets for a concert. The disabled person who bought them and his companion cannot make it.
Will I have any problems using them? I am not disabled.
Depends on the specific venue. In some places if one person is not using a wheelchair they will not be allowed to be seated, while in other places the seats are for people with disabilities - including non wheelchair users. One of your seats may not be a seat at all- but an empty bit of floor. I have been in more than one place where non chair users without a chair using companion were not allowed to stay.
What are you going to do if there is one traditional seat and next to it is a place where a seat was removed for a chair-user? Is one of you going to sit on the floor? Stand the whole time? I don't think so.
and he shaked your friends hands and you were there with 1,000 michael jackson fans
I would give him a hug and then faint from being noticed by the King of Pop :)
If someone is severely disabled and must use a motorized wheelchair, how would that person open a door on his/her own. and if not Is there any product or device that would allow him/her to successfully open a door?
Yes thank you, but the force is not present with all people. I am talking about disabled people with limited range of motion in his/ her arms and wants to open doors on his/her own. "on his/her own" means without any help from magic blue buttons or other humans. thanks if u can help.
Some people keep a metal hanger in their chair for that very purpose. You bend it so it is as long as possible and than you use the hook to grab hold of the door, than you back out your chair. You open the door as wide as possible. Than move the chair forward around the door so the door closes around you and the chair. Than inch your way forward while the chair closes behind you.
No hanger, or no grabbable door handle, and no automatic door - you sit and wait for someone who can help you. That is why automatic doors are not just 'nice' they are essential for many people.
I know there is a specific method to lifting someone out of a wheelchair without causing injury to either party involved. Can someone tell me the correct method to lifting someone out of a wheelchair? Thanks!!
if your not sure ask a care person so you dont damage u or the person.

grough - Black-belts abandon wheelchair man on Snowdon
A man in a wheelchair was left half way up Snowdon by colleagues on a charity walk.
The disabled man was abandoned yesterday, Saturday, at the bottom the Allt Moses below Clogwyn station when the going got too steep for the six martial-arts enthusiasts who had pushed the 31-year-old up the Llanberis path. A mountain rescue team was called and they took the man to the safety of the Snowdon Mountain Railway which was used to get him back to the valley.
Ian Henderson of Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team, which went to the man’s aid, said: “They had researched the route – apparently from the top of the Tarmac road, but not much further – and had information that said there was disabled access to the top of Snowdon – which there sort of is, from the cafe at the top!
