Custom Wheelchair

Looking for wheelchair rims that are polished or chrome that are stylish. Seen one's with spinners, wondering if anyone makes custom ones or premade one's that aren't too expensive.

Anything that is custom-made is going to be expensive.

CP- Cerebral Palsy. She is 31.(medcaid will not pay for a custom chair after the age of 21.) i've asked the salvation army, Good Samaratin found., Catholic Charities org., L.I.F.E., the UCP foundation, all have said they don't have the funds to help. the chair she got as a teenager (m-caid paid for-when she was a teen-) she has outgrown, and it has rusted, and is falling apart, her mom has to use pillows and ties to position and secure her, it is very unsafe.

those are good thoughts, but pt has medicaid, it doesn't pay any for custom chairs after the age of 21. and she can't get medicare, she never worked; so we've been told.

Medicare won't help either?

Anyone know of a place that will make custom floor mats to fit inside of wheelchair accessible mini-van? It would need to be custom cut for length, width, and holes for access to tie downs.

We've had Invacare Tiger powerchairs for years and loved them. Our vendor told us our new custom seating couldn't fit on one of them. Now we have a Zippy. It is cumbersome and hard to drive. Insurance won't let us get a new chair for another 3 years. We probably need an Invacare PowerTiger with a memory foam seat. Vendor wants to force us to be content with the Zippy but its not going to happen.
What can we do at this point.
I wasn't clear enough. The wheelchair we have now was not made by Invacare. Zippie is a different company. Vendor says we can't get another Invacare to fit our custom seat.

As you will see some Invacare products have been involved in a recall. See if yours is there.

Even if not, you will see an email address for Invacare's Customer Relationship Management Group. Write to them, explain your problem in detail.

If you do not get the response you require, start a letter writing campaign to these guys:

Mention your disatisfaction, but keep your letters factual and courteous. Send copies of your communication to your vendor.

My guess is that after a few contacts, either Invacare or your Vendor will come around.

I know he is in a custom wheelchair and still trains horses, seems very inspirational and a good horseman, did he get injured working around horses or off track? ty in advance.
