Cushion Cover

I bought these insides of cushions and some really beautiful material that i want to be on the cushion.

I have a sewing machine and needles and stuff but no zips or velcro.

Can someone please give me a step by step on how to make a cover for it?

oh yes i did this at school. What you have to do is put the material so they are both facing each other then use ur sewing machine to sew (it is square) 3 sides. then turn it inside out (but it wont be it will be the right way) then put in ur cushion and you will need to sew the other side yourself :) hope it turns out ok :)

I'm an amateur knitter and want to make a 14 x 14 inch cover for my cushion using knit and/or purl techniques. I've got a selection of needles and some double knitting wool. Can somebody write me a pattern to follow?

You can make a pattern yourself.

First, decide how you want to make the cover. The easiest is probably to make a knitted front and fabric back.

For the front: read the instructions on the wool band to see how many stitches and rows you need per inch. You will need to knit a square that's about 15x15in for your cushion, to give you a little bit of room for the seam allowance when you sew it up. So whatever number of stitches and rows you need, multiply each of those by 15.

E.g. if it says 4in = 22sts x 30rows on 4mm needles
then 1in = 5.5sts x 7.5 rows
so 15in = 82.5 sts x 112.5 rows

So you would use 4mm needles, cast on 82 stitches and knit 112 rows.

That will make the front of the cushion for you.

My bed is against an outside wall and there's a cushion that I left leaning against the wall while I was away for a while (so no air circulating in the room), and now its got little spots of brownish mould on it. I washed the cover on 60 degrees with plenty of detergent but the stains are still there, how do I get rid of them?

I had mold on a net curtain recently and didn't think anything would get it out. With nothing to lose I used Mold and mildew remover spray that I had for the bathroom and it worked.

I want to make a cushion cover and I am wondering how much material I need. Allowing for the seam allowance and a way to keep the cushion on.

Am I better off using a zip to keep it on.

I don't know how big the cushion is yet so I just want a general idea of how to figure it out once I have the cushion.

Ok,,what you need to do is measure the cushions width and length. measure the thickness too. Say it is 12" 16" and 4".
That comes to 32". Most fabric is 42" so you will just need one yard. That would allow for the seam allowances. Basically take your measure double it for both sides. I can't see you needing more than 1yd unless it is a huge cushion. Always make sure you have extra. I would make it with just a fold over instead of a zip. It is more modern. In that case add 8" to your fabric measure. BELOW IS A CALCULATION FOR ALL SIZES OF PILLOWS

I mean like I made some cushion covers 30cm x 30cm and i don't have any cushions to put inside them.
What could i use to fill the cushion covers??

cotton bating, or check out the thrift,Goodwill store look for a small pillow to put in them. good luck.
