This bas has almost a 6 inch lip on it. only 21/4 inches wide. Can it be cut down some and put a collapsible water retainer where the cut is. I know that the fiberglass is hollow inside. Is there any way to fix this?

I don't think it will work. If you have the room, how about a small ramp outside of the shower? You will be a little steep, but it's not a long run. That doesn't fix the problem inside the shower getting back down off the lip. If you have a local plumbing supply house or maybe on the internet, check to see if there isn't some type of a saddle available that you would lay over the existing shower curb. good luck.
