If you use a wheelchair, what condition have you been diagnosed with? What features do you need in stretchy and woven pants, skirts, T-shirts, or button-down shirts? I know the basics--for pants, higher back rise and lower front rise, zippers that go down to the crotch seam, zips that go from waist to hip on both sides. For stretchy tops, a zipper from the side bottom to the armpit. For button-down tops, magnets behind faux buttons on top of placket. What features would you like to see in a line of young and fashion-forward adaptive clothing? Sarahjeanstar@gmail.com
I am in a wheelchair and wear regular clothes. I know of no one in a wheelchair that needs special clothing.

I mean, a whole lot of us would prefer to have our Avatars look close to our real images...so why aren't there choices in wrinkles? A wattle here. Undereye bags there. Age spots. And laugh lines in cheeks and beside eyes. Even loose jowls for those who really want to scare the kiddies?!
Come on Yahoo--you have already given us ethnic clothing and wheelchairs. How about some wrinkles, and a (slightly) bent body for us seniors?
To Vaya and Mel S.--yes I agree, my avatar does look very young, only with silver hair!!
It just dawned on me when I glanced at it today that the picture could be more me at 28 (although my silver hair then was limited to a few at my temples!) than me now.
As to choices like Violet and Mellie suggest--please YES! Freckles and fat--it all comes down to the same thing--we need to be able to customize our images to suit ourselves. And what would suit me is being able to portray my avatar as close to my image as I can make it.
For Sylvia D...you are just too nice for this nasty world we live in!! Always upbeat, and looking on the bright side, is our Syl.
And Bill S...well, we can always lie to ourselves and claim we are only as old as we feel. I too, am only 25 years old or so inside of myself where it matters--but the truth remains that I am getting older every day, and it shows. I would much rather live the truth than a lie, and if I choose to have my avatar reflect that truth, then I should be able to have that option.
The only other alternative is to post a picture of the "real me" on here--but that means starting a 360 account, and I am just not going to do that. Besides, I would probably end up with a violation for posting "obscene" material!!
For 2jaxx, I have found this for you, to help you set up your own avatar...

Well, I see that I'm getting about a half and half response here. Some of us who want the chance to portray ourselves as close to life as we are, and those others who still want to be a little bit mysterious....
To Goldwing..I'm afraid that you are much prettier than me, so can get away with an actual picture.
And for Woolley...I only recently made my network private, when I picked up my own personal troll. I hope you never have to find out about THEM.
Thank you all for answering. Maybe I will set up a petition for Yahoo to provide us with wrinkles!! (As soon as I figure out how!!)
I think that all positive suggestions, and there are lots of them, are cool.
Come on Yahoo, do it for those of us who aren't chicken to really live this life.
Remember, those laugh lines (aka crow's feet) are our life's stripes. Wear them proudly friends.
I'm getting foot surgery & will be in a wheelchair for at least two weeks, and i can't put weight on my feet. I'm normally a very active person, so this is going to be tough. I'm mainly worried about stuff like using the restroom, changing clothes-personal stuff that I want to do myself w/out assistance from others. Thankfully, I don't have to leave the house during this time.
I think one of the biggest things is going to be making sure you can safely reach all of your supplies, like food and clothes, without having to get out of the chair.
Since you don't have to go out in public, clothes should be more focused on being easy to get on and take off, without having to ask for help. Consider buying several pairs of sweat pants and making a cut at the bottom of the legs. This will make them easier to get on and off.
Also, if it is not too late, you might consider having someone install some grab bars throughout the bathroom and other areas, as this is inexpensive and easy to do. However, make sure that you never put your weight on something like a towel rack, which will not be able to support it. They also make special stands that attach to the bed and can make getting in and out much easier.

i have a power chair i am able to walk inside the vehicle if i have walls to hang on to or bars in the roof to hold on to and are there rentals of recreational vehicles already adapted for wheelchair users i am just wanting to travel but cerebal palsey makes it difficult to use small spaces and not hurt myself in the process including the fact all the r.v. i have seen have a bathroom i cannot use nore do they have a shower i can use the bed is no big deal but getting clothes on me is going to be more harded in tight spaces if anyone has experience in this and know of a way to get an r.v. adapted i would be so thankfull thanks everyone
I understand your concerns. In general, the market for wheelchair accessible RV is small enough that most customize an existing RV instead by adding wheelchair lifts and modify existing hardware and entry and showers and such.
Here's a link to more links that may help.

Adaptive Clothing Can Be Fun And Fashionable « Wheelchair ...
That’s right! Being a person with a disability doesn’t mean that you have to forsake fun and fashion when it comes to clothing.
Thankfully, we are seeing more and more adaptive apparel makers who are moving the inclusion cause forward by designing and manufacturing clothes for people with disabilities that are COOL instead of institutional and humdrum.
Ross Daniel Adaptive Apparel is one of those companies. Their initial offering are stylish socks for kids and adults who wear AFO’s (ankle foot orthoses/below knee braces). Sounds cool because it is cool, and it’s a niche that has to date gone unfilled.
