Where to buy electric beds and wheelchair around SF bay area?

Dear All,
Please help. After a C-spine surgery, my dad became very illed and need home care. I need to buy a electric bed ( hospital bed) and a good wheelchair for him. All I found are websites, which I wish to visit the real store before I make my purchase.

I did some research. Still not finding any large medical supply stores carry electric beds and wheelchairs. If anyone of you know, please kindly give me some directions. Prefer cities: San Francisco, Palo Alto, Mt View, Santa Clara, San Jose, Fremont, Milpitas or somewhere not too far from these cities!

Thanks a lot!
Thanks to misskatp!!
IT happened too fast so we didn't know what to do as of now. He was sent to emegerncy room couple weeks ago and had his surgeries done afterwards. He is retired so he doesn't have income. And he owns one small townhouse so we were told social service will not kick in. We are expecting a big bill from our PPO insurance company and I am trying to collect more source for his future needs. If anyone one has idea about what to apply or where to get help, please tell me. Thanks a million!

Honey,
Look in your local phone book under these sources: Disability Services...Home Health Agencies....Social Services...local Health Department...call your local Hospital....Grogan's Health/Medical Supply....Social Security office....or call 411 and ask the operator to help you locate what you need. And, if I may, I am wondering why your dad isn't on Disability....they will help you pay for all these things and make sure your dad has a monthly income.....Please, if you need more help, let me know...
Sincerely, Katherine

How overweight do I need to be for the government to buy me an electric wheelchair?

It makes me happy to see how hard people are striving for underachievment.

i need to buy electric cooker wheelchair height. cant find a sight. help?

it must be between 70cm and 80cm high. Normal sights like b+q etc do not cater for disabled in wheelchairs

Hi Maureen,

You're not the only one having trouble finding a cooker between 70 and 80cms tall. The problem is that there are very few this size that are made as the standard height is 90cm.

I have looked through our site and while we do not stock any there may be a solution for you. If you were to buy integrated appliances, you would be able to have them installed at the height that you want them. This would mean that you wouldn't need to find a special cooker and may work out cheaper for you.

Depending on what you need you can often get some good packages including both the hob and the cooker part at a special price.

I do hope that this helps you even though it is not specifically what you were after.

Should I agree to my wifes request and let her save up to buy an electric wheelchair? It would give me a lot?

More freedom to watch the Football instead of driving her to the shops everyday. Also there is quite a steep hill from the main road up to the estate if she rolls backwards into a car do I have to pay for the repairs to the car ????

Ah so youre back then x

Free Golf Carts! « John Stossel

After money from the "stimulus" bill was spent on destroying perfectly good cars and building an Airport for Nobody, the WSJ reports that government has found an even more ridiculous way to spend your money: free golf carts.

"The purchase of some models could be absolutely free," Roger Gaddis of Ada Electric Cars in Oklahoma said earlier this year. "Is that about the coolest thing you've ever heard?" The golf-cart boom follows an IRS ruling that many golf carts qualify for the electric-car credit.

Tony Colangelo, in South Carolina, calls himself "golf cart man" and is already advertising free carts.

Golf Cart Man is referring to his offer in which you can buy the cart for $8,000, get a $5,300 tax credit off your 2009 income tax, lease it back for $100 a month for 27 months, at which point Golf Cart Man will buy back the cart for $2,000. "This means you own a free Golf Cart or made $2,000 cash doing absolutely nothing!!!"
