Dear friend about many other important requirements please keep on searching as it’s a matter of special person with special needs.

You can look for the following;
Safety in balance (that user is mounted safely & cant easily fall down)
Safety in battery & circuit (that battery & circuit are not faulty that they don’t heat up or hang wire or release smoke)
Motion Controllers (they are easy to use and you are comfortable with them)
Seat material (material of the seat is comfortable to sit on for long periods)

the americans with disability's act clearly states that jobs and Business cant discriminate handicapped people. they could have a huge law suit on their hands.

My husband has a motorized wheelchair and we are going to cabo san lucas in the beginning of December 2007. I would like to take it to cabo so he can get around easily but I need a way to transport it. Are there any handicapped car rental places down there.

Since all the car rental places serve Cabo, I would start by phoning them from home (Avis, Budget, Dollar, etc) They will be able to advise you properly about their affiliates in Mexico

yes you can i did get stopped for being drunk in public while driving home on my powered wheelchair i dont know about youre state laws in youre state but in arizona the cop just gave me a warning i think he was just checkin to see if i was ok because i was toasted drunk plastered and everything else in between but yea it is possible and my friends were stopped when they where wheeling in there custom made manual wheelchair so be carefull cause they could fine you or arrest you

A recently deceased cousin's family wants to give me her brand new Hoveround motorized wheelchiar. Since it is a gift, I'm interested in the cheapest form of transportation.

You might want to check with a few of your local trucking companies. Not sure where you are, but look in the phone book, call them and let them know what you want ,and if they can`t help you they will usually direct you to a company that can.
