Im an occupational therapist and work with individuals who have amputations of all sorts and their seating requirements. There is no way you will get the correct answer in this forum. Each person's body is so different that two individuals with the same presentation will require two different solutions. I recommend finding an OT or wheelchair seating specialist through your doctor. There are many chairs available that will make life much easier.

There are number of possibilities such as B 12 deficiency if this pain is related to a problem with nerves being damaged. The only way to know for sure is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think could be causing this.

Amputees compete in wheelchair basketball and volleyball, and swimming. They also compete in track events with prosthetics... There are probably more, but that's what I know off the top of my head. You can compete in practically anything as an amputee, in a wheelchair or with CP.

    MERCED — The Merced Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division is investigating a complaint alleging that an officer twice used a Taser against an unarmed man with no legs in a wheelchair.

    Gregory Williams, 40, a double-leg amputee, spent six days in jail on suspicion of domestic violence and resisting arrest after the Sept. 11 incident. Merced County District Attorney Larry Morse II said there wasn’t enough evidence to file charges, however.

    Williams, who was released from jail Friday, said he was violently manhandled and Tasered by police, even though he claims he never was physically aggressive toward the officers or resisted arrest.

    Williams says he was publicly humiliated after his pants fell down during the incident. The officers allegedly left him outdoors in daylight, handcuffed on the pavement, nude below the waist. Williams said the arrest also left him with an injured shoulder, limiting his mobility in his wheelchair.
