Adjustable Wheelchair

It is going to be used as a planting table for wheel chair students in a greenhouse. It will be about 36" wide, 72" long, and adjustable from 29" to 36" high. I need ideas on how to make it adjust safely, easily and inexpensively. I plan on having 3 of these tables next to each other for a total length of about 18'.

Buy an adjustable height drafting board....there are many of them that are available in used condition for about $150 or less.

Try listing them on www.craigslist.com It's a great place to sell things. You'll need to pick the largest city near your home and then the correct category... it is pretty easy to use. Good luck.

I have a back problem that causes me to need to stand, sit, stand, etc a lot throughout the day, and need to find a desk I can raise and lower. I've only found ones for people who are disabled and those seem to be too big (so they can fit a wheelchair, which I don't need) and to be very expensive. I just need one wide enough for a laptop and whatever papers I'm working with. I'm in the London area, so somewhere near there or via the internet is preferable. Thank you!

Thanks for the info regarding the chairs. I won't go into details, but I don't need a chair, I need a desk that can be altered. No wall for the shelves, but a brilliant idea. Thanks, everyone.

i know ikea do adjustable tables, but i think they may be a bit fiddley to adjust, maybe you should check them out anyway though, may be a cheap solution

CP- Cerebral Palsy. She is 31.(medcaid will not pay for a custom chair after the age of 21.) i've asked the salvation army, Good Samaratin found., Catholic Charities org., L.I.F.E., the UCP foundation, all have said they don't have the funds to help. the chair she got as a teenager (m-caid paid for-when she was a teen-) she has outgrown, and it has rusted, and is falling apart, her mom has to use pillows and ties to position and secure her, it is very unsafe.

those are good thoughts, but pt has medicaid, it doesn't pay any for custom chairs after the age of 21. and she can't get medicare, she never worked; so we've been told.

My mom needs to go for the stress test, but she is in a wheelchair with limited mobility. Does anyone know how high the table is? Are they usually adjustable? If it's too high she won't be able to get on, and I'm afraid she will fall. She's also a bit heavy and I'm afraid they just wont be able to lift her onto it. If it's low enough so she can just transfer to sit on it, that will be ok, but she will not be able to step up at all. Any help is appreciated. Thx.
I don't need to know about the test, I just want to know the HEIGHT of the table.

The height can vary. It's often the height of a hospital stretcher.

There will be plenty of help to move her.
