Elena finally home after miracle escape in US crash tragedy
A woman who cheated death in a major road accident in America has been reunited with her family in Dublin.
Elena Jimenez (22), from Ballyboden, is undergoing tests at St Vincent's Hospital to test the severity of her injuries and to plan for her recovery.
She miraculously survived a crash in Tennessee in which three people, including her friend Jessica Monroe and the parents of a four-year-old boy -- who was rescued from his vehicle -- were killed.
The young woman, who will be wheelchair bound for several months, was flown home yesterday and transferred to St Vincent's Hospital.

Despite facing another stay in hospital, Elena and her family are ecstatic that she is back in Ireland. Twin sister Lynn said: "The past two weeks have been really hard -- Elena has been so emotional because she lost her friend Jessica."

The plan calls for a wheelchair lift, tie-downs, a power drivers transfer seat and hand controls. This should give us a great platform to take almost anyone out for their first backcountry experience and since the rig has a nice sleeping setup we can offer overnight outings .
