I was just wondering why walkers have hand brakes? I have ask this question to friends and none can give me an answer. Think about this if someone needed a walker they would never be walking at a speed where they would need brakes.
well maybe for some reason your going down a driveway or somewhere where it might pick up speed on its own like a steep hill or anywhere steep and u cant stop it ur gonna need those brakes to help u out or maybe the are there so when the old people wanna race they can hold on to there brakes and peel out lol

Suffer from myclonic jerking (spontaneous and not specifically diagnosed to source or illness), fibromyalgia and arthritis, all somewhat debilitating, but get along well now on walker and have with a cane on previous cruise this year. Thought might rent a special chair/walker with brakes, etc. Expect might be healed enough not to need any aids, but just in case, wonder what I might do. Have equilibrium problems from medications. Plan to let Cruise Line know of these limitations. Any suggestions to make the trip more comfortable, safer, easier on me. Similar experiences? Plan flying to place of embarkation; so this might complicate things, too. What do you think? Cruise paid for before broke hip; insurance may not allow much return on booking. Thanks.
Cruise lines are taking steps to assist passengers with special needs in planning a wonderful cruise. On all ships you can find the right accommodations to fit your specific needs, from special diets to wheelchair accessibility and more. Most cruise ships today have a number of "handicapped accessible" cabins designed specifically to meet the needs of people who use wheelchairs or need help moving about. You should also inquire about the accessibility of the bathroom and the availability of hand rails. If you have trouble hearing make sure you ask the cruise line to supply you with a telephone amplifier, visual smoke detector, visual door knocker and text based telephone equipment. They can supply you with a bed vibrator to alert you in case of an emergency.... more about this article in http://www.cruisenegotiators.com/special _needs
she goes through front pads usualy every 3-4K (mail jeep) using low end carquest or walker pads i recently got her a cheao set from advance and wore out in 3 days so i got her the lifetime brakes front autozone from her request and lasted a week noticed the LF was wore slam out but RF wasnt replaced both front calipers and reinstallled new autozone lifetime pads lasted 3 weeks now both are wore down evenly but wore out to fast is this a common problem with the aftermarket brakes front advance or autozone? using correct rotors yes and jeep only has 37K on it i never turn rotors belowm min spec according to alldata also this jeep is right hand drive
rear brakes wore out first time about 30-35K i think, i was thinkin porportion valve aswell or somethin causin front to rear pressure to be different in an exessive amount, yea it pulls to left alittle but not to0 bad
I would expect excessive wear on the pads simply because it is a mail delivery, and it stops more frequently than the average vehicle. 3-4k seems too frequent but when you think of how many stops have been made...
How are the rears doing? You should have similar replacement schedules (the front do more work than the rear so they shouldn't be as often) but do make sure that the rear brakes are working correctly and that the ratio front to rear is within spec. You could have an issue with the brake proportioning valve.

LakelandLocal.com - Red Light Cameras Have Made A Nervous Wreck ...
It all harkens back to my post-Army days, when I worked as a civilian for the military newspaper at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.
I was a speedometer watcher because I know that if you speed on a military post, you WILL get a ticket. One day I’m leaving the post and I come up on an MP in the lane beside me. My heartbeat quickens and I automatically get off the gas, even though I’m not speeding. My eyes fixate on my speedometer.
And yet, I get pulled over. The MP asks for my paperwork and I, indignant, ask why I’ve been pulled over. He says I just ran the red light.
Confused, I ask, “Was it yellow and turned red as I drove through the intersection?
