yes, that is what it is for, but if you put too much weight on it, it will not move to well. So acrobatics are out.

I am traveling to Europe and I know I'll be doing a lot of walking. I want to know where I can get the kind of walkers that have wheels and a seat in the Chicago area?

Most any pharmacy can either sell you one, or tell you where to buy one. Brady's Pharmacy and Home Med Care is one such place, it's at 3235 W 111th St, (773) 238-6686. I went to Yahoo local, and typed in "walkers and wheelchairs" and Chicago Illinois" came up with several medical equipment places

Is there a way of quickly cleaning my walkers wheels before entering a building?

I have a good friend who recently bought a house, I have one problem with the house: It's got white carpet. I am afraid when I go to her house I am going to ruin her rug, with my dirty wheels. She asks everyone to take off their shoes, she knows I need the walker to walk and can't take off the wheels. If I clean them at home before I go to her house they will get dirty by the time I get there.

I take my walker every place outside in the grass, mud, dry dirt, on the hot pavement of parking lots, in restaurants where people drop food and it's not cleaned up right away so you walk through it and my wheels pick it up, every place that you would walk my wheels go, so they get pretty dirty.

I can't bend down to wipe them with any thing. So I need some thing that I can roll on or put the wheels in that will clean the dirt off them quickly like under 2 minutes.I'm not too concerned about germs.

I only have one walker and can't afford another one for indoor use only.

This is a very serious question.

I ask that people remove their shoes in my home also - and I don't have white carpet - just a cleanliness thing.
I also use a walker and a wheelchair.

Buy one of those microfiber hair towels or a microfiber dish rag - they are small and work really well. If wheels are dry, then just put down towel and roll over a few times, but If wet, it seems to me that just rolling the wheels on a mat or a towel doesn't work as well as someone wiping them down. Just ask your friend to wipe the wheels for you, she won't mind.

If you really want to do it yourself, try those light weight bath sponges on a plastic stick. I have one from PT - it is a cheap blue sponge on a white stick to give reach.

She likes to play with the wheels on her walker, stroller, and playpen when she's not in them. She lays on her stomach and rolls them around. Does anyone else have a child who does this? Is this normal? She's not as interested in toys as much as electronics and wheels.

I have found that my daughter is infinitely more interested in non toy items than purchased toys. Most of her "toys" consist of paper towel tubes, boxes, whisks from the kitchen, an old TV remote control (without the batteries) a basket, a block set, a laundry basket that she pushes around, a plethora of books, sponges, etc. They stimulate her imagination than any baby einstein could ever do. It looks as if your daughter actually wants to figure things out instead of being entertained by commercialism. Good job mom!
