Light Walker

Sometimes, its inconvenient and expensive to have bodyguards, and there is a bunch of laws against carrying a concealed handgun for protection. How can athletes protect themselves?

I believe all states offer Right To Carry permits, which allow people to carry concealed firearms. Some states offer shall issue permits (anyone can get them) and others offer may issue permits (selective process). These permits can be obtained by someone who needs one fairly easily (for instance if your job requires you to carry large sums of cash on you or if you are a high profile athlete or celebrity). Of course, going out for a night of drinking, doing this probably would not be a good idea.

Hiring a limo service is a fairly safe bet - eliminates DUI's as well as ensures you get from point a to point b safely, and they will pick you up where you want them to. It's fairly cheap and very safe.

Getting a bodyguard is another option, but of course, this can get pricey. However, if you're dropping 15 grand on a round of drinks, I think you can hire a couple of part time body guards part time. I'd imagine for one night, they'd cost less than one of those rounds of drinks that he was spraying all over the crowds.

Being smart about where you go and what you do is the biggest thing. The NFL teaches each rookie this, but it doesn't stick to all of them. It's fine to go out and have fun, but you make yourself a target when you're flaunting wealth. If you're planning on wandering around alone in the wee hours of the morning, you may want to tone it down for the night.

My assumption is Walker had a bit too much to drink, got separated from who he was with, and was wandering back to his hotel or somewhere and got mugged. If he hadn't been out so late and making a spectacle of himself, chances are this never would have happened.

Of course, this is coming from a person who started drinking at the Jersey Shore, and woke up at his friends apartment in Boston with no idea how he got there and no ride back.... so I can't be one to judge too much. I'd like to think I'd be smarter about things like that if I had more to lose.

Phil - I see your point, and it is a good one - the scumbags who did this to him are the ones at fault. Not Walker. However, you also can't walk through Camden with hundred dollar bills hanging out of your pockets and not expect anything to happen either. My point is that he put himself in a situation where he was wandering around incredibly late, drunk, wearing earrings that are worth as much as the average person in the US makes in a year, and he was alone in a different and dangerous town. It'd be great if you could expect people to act like decent human beings at all times, but unfortunately, you can't, and you need to defend yourself against that. Athletes need to be aware that they can be targets and try to avoid situations where they will be.

I know where i can find a combat walker and a light walker but i want to know where i can find a heavy walker or if there even is a heavy walker

hi you can find one at the edf exectutive housing high value target place in dust sector its usually parked right beside it if not reload the game and look again remember the building cant be destroyed or the heavy walker wont spawn anymore if you already have just start a new game and you have to beat the mission where you first steal a heavy walker to get that free roam one now go wreak havoc on buildings and edf ;)

I've been in love with horse racing for over 20 years now, and I would love to be involved with it in some way. I had at first considered trying to be an exercise rider, as I'm small and light enough, but I think I'd do better a a hot walker or groom for a Thoroughbred racing stable. However, I'm not sure how to go about it. Being that I live in North Carolina, I'm not near any major horse farms other than the ones in Aiken, SC.

Any thought as to what I should do? I suppose I could email different horse farms and ask them....

Being a hot walker doesn't take any training you just have to be able to handle a horse on the ground. I've always worked on the track except the two times I worked on farms. It's really not that hard to get a job with a racing stable as they are always looking for help. You could try contacting them by phone, e-mail, or even visiting the farms and see if they need a hot walker. Is there a race track nearby that might be a better route to go. Just go to the track's stable gate and let security know you are looking for work and they will make an announcement over the PA system and any trainer looking for a hot walker will contact the stable gate. Why on earth does my crisps that i just bought from tesco (london (monument)) taste like washing up liquid?!
