Not sure whether can have walker at seat and whether walker is too big to go down aisle or to enter washroom. Also I wonder if the washroom is big enough to accomodate a caregiver with the handicapped person.
Most lavatories will not accomodate a walker very well at all. Some larger aircraft have a wheelchair accessible lavatory but this feature is dependent on the airline, andthe configuration of the airplane. I suggest a cane or two. The lavs do have hand grips though, so that should help.
Walkers are often gate checked, stowed in the cargo bin & brought to the jetway upon arrival like strollers and baby carriers. Even if they are collapsable, they may be too wide to be stowed onboard. This is another factor to consider. Additionally, the aisle may be too narrow to navigate with one. Aisles are around 15" to 18" at the largest.
Check out this link for 'passengers of size' that may provide some helpful info that would apply to using a walker onboard:

If getting to the lav is a potential problem, book a seat nearest the lavatory and the passenger can hang on to the seatbacks or armrests along the way.
Find a seatmap and aircraft configuration info at http://www.seatguru.com
Also, be sure to speak with customer service about this topic when you investigate a ticket purchase to see what airline is most accomodating.

I know we have all seen it. A car parked in handicapped slot and a bunch of young people get out and none show any necessity for the parking priviledge.
I drive my 96 yr old mom to stores and can't find a parking place in handicapped. She uses a walker and can't go far before she gets in a wheelchair. Most times if we can find a parking spot, it's by pure luck! It just burns me up to see a bunch of kids get out of a car and bounce into the store. Wish I had a good stress reliever....lol. Know any?
And yes, I've had ugly comments made to me when I take a load of packages to the car before my mom gets out of the store and starts to the car. All assuming I parked there as a single occupant. I know mistakes can be made, but I'm talking about the obvious ones where you see them get out of the car after parking.
Okay, am seeing a common thread of reporting the people. I'm just not sure the police take this as serious enough to check into the validity of use of a handicapped parking place.
The requirements for getting a sticker are just too lenient in my opinion. It says 'can't walk 200 feet without assistance' . Seems they wouldn't come bouncing out of the car, all chatty and kidding with each other.
I'm going to let the votes decide. I'm still unsure how to get people to be honest in their use of handicapped parking.
Thanks for all your input. At least I know it's not just me getting upset over this.
Report them...it is illegal to park in a handicap parking space with out the legal handicap placard hanging on rear view mirror or without being truly handicapped.
I have a terminal illness that cannot be seen...I cannot walk 200 feet without the assistance of someone or something or without having to stop. Although my handicap is not visual I have it just the same.
I. too, get stares when I exit my vehicle without a cane or walker or some visible sign that says "handicapped".... I am 58 years old and don't like having to use those spaces with my placard ; however I need them to go in to buy groceries. Once inside the store I then use a motorized cart to shop.
If it ever came to me or you getting a spot -- of course, I would gladly give the spot for your mother -- God Bless her!
I'm living in a doulbe wide mobile home a wheel chair ,walker won't go thru the doors..agin we've been doing the best we can for almost 3 years..lawyers and workmans comp..don't care..I don't realy want to loose the little 2 aceres of dirt I'm on..but ya'll I can't do this alone any more I need some help idea..somebody get MAD with me..polly
have you talked to a real estate agent about selling the home you're in and helping you find another? That might be an option. If you are disabled, the state may be able to help, you probably need to call medicaid or medicare if you have either of those.

Poplar Grove Plantation cancels Christmas | StarNewsOnline.com ...
Rainy weather just happened to coincide with several of the nonprofit foundation’s fundraisers that support the living history museum, lowering attendance and drenching profits, said spokeswoman Jeanne Walker. Besides having less money to use for the Christmas event, the plantation also lost a staff member because of budget constraints and has less manpower to organize it.
Events planned for Nov. 27-28 and Dec. 2-5 have been canceled, and the plantation is reverting to its previous tradition of holding a free Christmas open house, which will be from noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 6.
About 2,000 people attended last year’s six-night event. The one-day event will likely bring about 700 people to the former peanut plantation, at 10200 U.S. 17, next to Scotts Hill.
