Baby Walker

what do you think is the appropriate age to use a baby walker/ring?

Walkers are a thing of the past they very dangerous in many ways, they can easy tip over and pushing your little one into the floor and cause multiple injury from bruising to fractures or others injuries and even death but the main problem with walker is that is not so much the fact of the walker tipping over actually is the walker hitting dresser or chirroffes/armoire or tall furniture pieces and T.V or or other heavy object falling on top of the baby or even this furniture pieces tipping/falling on top of the him/her. That's why furniture wall straps are recommended if your furniture doesn't have this straps for the past 15 years every furniture over 8 ft has to have straps, last year in Houston between Sept '06 and December '06 they were 8 little ones killed. Excersaucer are great but now they are a thing of the past as well, but the new craze and I highly recommend are the new rainforest's jumperoo's and the Kids II-Baby Einstein Jumper they lookalike miniature Bungee Jumper and they will get allot more exercise.

I have a 8 month old baby boy. He is ready to move about and is board with the immobile bouncer that he has been using since he was about 4 months old. The bouncing has made his legs VERY strong but as I said he is ready to move about. Problem is I have a 1 level home with plush carpet thru out. except for the kitchen and bathroom. Does anyone know witch walker I could purchase that would allow my baby to move about easily.I guess one with larger wheels maybe?

I would get one of those play centers that are like a walker but the bubby can move in circles and play with all the toys on the side. Both my babies have loved that

No. My kids both walked at 10 months and neither ever had a walker. I am wary of products that have a baby supported by their crotch.
Humans have learned to walk with out gadgets for many many many years.

I got a used walker for my baby, and it's a little dirty.
What are some good at home products I can use to clean it. i.e. bleach, baking soda, etc;
There are two parts that need cleaning, the fabric chair and the plastic. Any ideas on how to clean one or the other would be great.

wash the fabric with mild detergent with a little of baking soda and vinegar...the vinegar makes it soft. And I would clean the plastic with a little bit of clorox clean up...make sure to wash it off well afterwards.
