I want to take my family to Disney World. I use this electric wheelchair (scooter) and I wonder if I could take it with me. I think it would be hard for my wife to push me around the parks in a conventional wheelchair. Do the airlines take this kind of chairs? Are the buses that take you from the airport to Disney equiped to take wheelchairs?
Airlines will carry your electric wheelchair or scooter for you as long as it has dry cell batteries and wont leak if it falls over.
Plus in the airport they will provide you with a wheelchair and assistance on and off the aircraft if you require, but you need to let them know what you require a few weeks in advance.
You can get a wheelchair accessible bus from the airport to the parks / hotels, but again you need to book in advance. The also have taxis that can take a chair.
Disney is great for accessablity, they have adapted rooms and all the transport have ramps and lifts, however some of the lifts are only manual chair size.
You can also hire wheelchairs and scooters in the actual parks and they are pretty reasonable priced.
You can't take scooters on to the rides, but if you need to be in a chiar they will give you one to use.
Have fun, its a great place and they are incredibly helpful.

My family is going to the Omaha zoo. My mom has to be on cruches because she hurt her knee so she cannot walk around the zoo. Can we rent a powered scooter/ wheelchair at the zoo?
Yes, they do rent/offer scooters, and most of the place is wheelchair friendly- even the tram rides.
Maximum chair width: 27 inches
Usable Dimensions: 48.25 x 28
Weight Capacity: 400 lbs.
My porch is 26 inches high, I weigh 170 lbs, and the scooter probably weighs less than 200 lbs
ADA requirements are a slope of 1" rise for every 12" of run. This makes for a huge ramp, in your case 26 feet long. That mild slope will allow a person in a wheelchair to make it up the slope unassisted.
That being said, you may not need that much. Electric chairs and scooters will list the maximum slope they can handle for a given weight. Since this is personal property, you may not be required to adhear to ADA requirements. I built one here in CA to get into a trailer. We were able to use a 2 in 12 slope (which cuts the length in half). If you have the room, use the lower slope, but that just can't happen all the time.
There are other requirements that need to be followed as well. Guard rails are required, and landings if the ramp must turn corners in order to get the length requred.
As far as materials, concrete is always the best, but it can be made from wood (attaching the guard rail/ hand rail at the bottom is tricky).
Has a 3-1/2 inch safety rail; Includes an anti-tilt locking device to prevent the rack from wobbling
Fits all 2" Receiver, hitch class III or IV; Folding ramp can also be locked flat when not in use; Heavy duty folding hitch makes our carrier more rigid and stronger
Heavy duty steel construction; Durable black powder coated finish; Platform dimension : 30 X 50 inch

how do i go about taking out the restrictor in an electronic wheelchair from walmart, I want to do this to make it go faster but i dont know how to do it please anyone help
There isn't a seperate restrictor. It's a setting in the motor control board. Since I don't know which particular motor control they are using, I can't tell you.

I’m on a large number of mailing lists and I enjoy most of them. Some of them are gardening related…some are quilt related…some are canning & preserving related…some are butterfly lists…and on and on.
I’m what’s called a “lurker” on most of these lists because although I have an interest in the topic, I’m usually not knowledgeable enough about the subject matter to help…so I don’t post…therefore I’m a lurker. :-)
First, let me say that I’m the parent of a disabled son so I may be a little more sensitive to negative attitudes toward the handicapped than someone else. I’m also probably more aware of their rights.
