I am looking to find a list of physicians who have prescribed power mobility through Medicare. I would like to know the names of the doctors and how many power chairs they have prescribed. Any help would be great. Thank you!
You cannot find that info on the internet. You have to ask the doctor.

The batteries in the chair are dead and my wife comes home from hospital tom'w. No time to get ones made for power wheelchairs.
A car battery will work for a while but a marine deep cycle battery would last longer.
I've just recently found out that I'm going to start having to use a power wheelchair to get around due to worsening Cerebral Palsy and extreme leg fatigue brought on by walking short distances. I was wondering if anyone else that uses a Jazzy Select power wheelchair could give me some tips on how to safely drive it. Thanks a bunch to everyone that answers!
I service wheelchairs, and I am not real sure what you are looking for here. Power chairs are not real hard to control, but you'll want to make sure you have at least two speed settings- indoor and outdoor.
Set the indoor speeds so the chair is almost sluggish- this allows you to control it gently through doors, etc. Outdoor can be pretty much whatever you can handle- but remember that too much speed is just as dangerous in wheelchairs as it is in other vehicles.

The Senate Finance Final Bill with be out tomorrow, this is very important to help people who need power wheelchairs in the future to remain independent and have access to the right wheelchair for their specific disability. The Summary of the Senate Finance bill has the elimination of the First Month Purchase option in it. Information on what the First Month Purchase option for Power Wheelchairs means for people who have a disability. It means that they own the right wheelchair when their physician, the beneficiary and their provider decide what the right wheelchair is for their disability. People have the right to own their wheelchair and not rent it for 13 months. The 13 month rental will cause a severe access problem for these beneficiaries to have their wheelchair. Providers cannot wait for 13 months to be paid, and this does not save Medicare any money, in fact it costs 5% more. I am requesting that you contact Senator Baucus, Chairman of the Finance Committee and request that He, Preserve the first month purchase option for Power Wheelchairs and Keep it out of the Senate Finance Bill.
