Are there traffic regulations for motorized wheel chairs?

I almost ran over one in town today. The operator was in the middle of the lane coming out of a parking lot!

I believe so, yes. Saw a cop stopping a guy who had ridden one on the shoulder of a major highway to go to a shopping mall. Couldn't believe the guy was dumb enough to do that.
I kind of listened in on the conversation.....guy was trying to justify why he did it, kind of made me laugh.

at the state fair of texas do they have wheelchairs or motorized wheel chairs, my aunt has cancer, more info?

help need to know! she want to take her daughter. i need to know 10 points!

I do believe they have wheel chairs at the fair. I haven't been in some time, but seems like I recall seeing them, even years ago. There should be a phone number you can call to verify this. Fair Park is open all year long, even when the fair isn't there ... check your Dallas phone book or whitepages.com

I hope this helps.

What would be the specifications for a motorized wheel chair that could be used on a sandy beach?

Including performance, economic, and scheduling specifications.

Probably the most important specification you would have to deal with is will you be able to get sufficient traction in the sand by using four rubber wheels. You may need one with two threaded belts (similar to what army tanks use to travel across soft ground and snowmobiles use to travel across soft snow).

Another consideration is having a low center of gravity to prevent the wheel chair from toppling over on a lumpy soft surface. Obviously heavy storage batteries will help. But there is a trade off between weight and performance. The heavier the wheel chair, the less likely it will tip over. But with a heavier chair, you will have to charge it more often and accept slower speeds.

What do you think of the new motorized wheel chair that some?

I think the airlines, trucking companies, taxi services, all private transportation, should have this technology. Can you imagine a blind taxi driver? 90 miles an hour through busy rush hour traffic with a driver who can't see his hand in front of his face. What a "Rush"! How about flying from L.A. to New York with a blind flight crew! "We'll be flying some where between the ground and who knows where, so sit back and enjoy your flight. The flight will be 3 hours and 5 minutes, so, some one keep me advised on the time so I'll know when to land this thing. Please observe the no smoking..."
