Mobility Scooter Chair

Ever since she got Medicare to pay for her new mobility scooter chair, she has been drinking it up and then taking her chair out for a spin.

The police have brought her home 5 times and we have found her crashed in the ditch on several occasions. Not to mention the time she ran all over Miss Betty D's flower bed. Miss Betty is not one for neighborly kindness and understanding, so you can imagine the situation.

Aside from equipping her chair with a LoJack to keep track of her, what can we do?

Seems to me that drink is not the problem.

She feels she needs some entertainment when she is wasted, just like the rest of us.

I would suggest buying her a Juggling monkey, or maybe getting some midgets to visit her so that she can poke fun at them.

Another inexpensive way of getting her attention, would be to bang together 2 pistachio nut shells.

This gives the impression that a very small horse is approaching, and who wouldn't wanna stay in and see THAT?

where can i purchase a bead sest cover for my captains chair on my mobility scooter?

try a medical supply store. they have or can order you a cover to fit your scooter. that's what we did for my dad. can be expensive.

Hey i was declared unable to work for a year ago. partly because of walking problems. Do i have right for money support to get a disabled mobility scooter or power chair.

since your employers have put you out of work for the cause of a physical disability, you should be covered for the costs of your electric scooter.

Many people that use scooters/chairs SHOULD AND DO drive cars

Depends on your mode of transport. A good power chair, NOT a Hoveround, is a better option for people who use public transit or have accessible vehicles. They are smaller and typically more customizable.


If you need something that goes into the trunk of a car, then a scooter is a better choice.

I am currently using a Legend by Pride. It is ok. I weigh 320, my dog 7 and i carry groceries so I need one that allows 350 lb. I need one 46 inches or less long so I can get on the local bus. I need the captains chair. I want a front and rear basket, full lights, rear view mirror, hand brake, and cane holder if it will fit next to rear basket.

The Wheelchair place, Owens Medical Equiptment, and Northern Rehab and Respiratory are just a few places that will come to your home and measure you for the proper size wheelchair. Just call around where ever it is that you live and medical supply or equipment places and ask for a home evaluation. Also if you have medical or medicare and a real disabilitie they will bill them for the service and at the same time they will check your home for any other medical equiptment you may need such as grab bars, eating equiptment, shower chairs, etc. druski0918
