Free Mobility Scooter

A lady has trouble walking and needs a mobility scooter but has no insurance. What can she do to get insurance? and the scooter? this is in Tennessee

Most likely nothing. Once disabled it is almost impossible to get health insurance.

You can find scooters for sale on Craig's List, Ebay, and in local classifieds. When people die their scooters are often sold very cheaply. I bought one almost 10 years ago for $500 from a son of a man who had dies - it is still working. I recently got a second one, because I wanted a lighter wieight one - and I bought it new for $900.

hiya, i got mine from the mobility shop.i could not get on with it,so i took it back to the shop.if you go to your mobility shop,they should be able to order one for you.

I see that the criterion to be reimbursed for a scooter is that it is needed in the home. I live in a high rise s\mall apartment. It is section 8 for seniors building. I can walk inside my unit. I cant get downstairs to the mailbox, the laundry, the library, or the room where we pick up free bread and federal groceries given once a month. How can I qualify?

What is needed is your doctor has to say you need one to get around and that you need it to get around your home.

And you do, the apartment complex is your home, and the laundry and mail is part of it.
