I want to sell a scooter that is commonly used by disabled people. Where can I sell it?
Shore leave

I have had a scooter for 3 years, but have never used it. I am disabled, but it won't work for my handicap. I've kept it wrapped in plastic and stored in a controlled environment. What's the best way/place to sell it?

Depends in part on how much you want to sell it for. Craiglist IS a good suggestion. But there is also CheapCycle.com, kijiji.com, and ioffer.com.

Where are you, what kind is it, and how much do you want - I might be interested.

I have 50cc scooter, disabled senior citizen looking for training wheels can anyone help?
Toyota_Mobility_RAV_080520508

There are no local shops around here that do that type of work and no I'm not kidding, I realize you can't go fast with training wheels I just need them to get confident, I've never been on a scooter

I seriously doubt if (fixed) training wheels would even function on a scooter, other than at very low speeds. Get much faster than 6-8 mph, and the wheels will prevent turning by leaning (as a scooter is meant to), while the width of the wheel's track will be too narrow to offer stability for normal "car" steering. This thing would be a death-trap.

If you intend to have the wheels raise up automatically as speed increases (as some GoldWing owners have done), then it might work, but will be expensive.

If you are able to stand, consider the MP3, a 3-wheeled scooter made by Piaggio. It can stand on its own at stops. It comes in multiple sizes, from 125cc to 500cc

yes it is true you need to register it with the DVLA if it is faster than 4mph and get a tax disk but that is free, the people at a good mobility shop are usually able to give you all the advice you need.

Is it possible to navigate the streets of Dubrovnik when using a scooter (I am disabled).?
Toyota_Mobility_080520086

You can navigate some of the streets in a scooter and some of them not. There is a lot of steps everywhere and there are not many ramps around, especially in the smaller streets. Some of the walkways are very narrow too. Dubrovnik is in a steep hill, which can make it harder to get around.

During the busiest tourist season the main streets of Dubrovnik are so full of people that it's hard for anyone to get around or see much. If I ever go there again I will make sure to go there at a less busy tourist season.

  • Disabled soldiers get scooters, cash

Indian Express : During the Indo-Pak War in December 1971, Naik Ram Dass of Mahar regiment was caught in a mine blast that killed 14 soldiers of his regiment. Dass damaged his left leg that night and has been on crutches since then. On Thursday, 45 disabled soldiers like Dass were given a modified scooter each at the Bombay Engineering Group by head of Southern Command, the General Officer Commanding in Chief, Lt Gen Pradeep Khanna.

“Around 10 pm, the mine blew up and killed and injured many soldiers. It happened on December 11, nine days after the war broke out,” he said. In 1985, Dass retired from the Army.

Now 58, he lives in Buldana with his three children. “I do not know yet how to ride a scooter, but I can learn. My children will teach me,” said Dass. “It will be quite useful when I visit nearby places, like the market or the canteen. Till now, I have been travelling by autorickshaw,” he said.
