Pool Chair Lift

Could anyone out there help me with a problem, I am looking for a lift or device to help get my disabled wife into our swimming pool. she can get from her wheelchair into the pool ok but getting out is a problem as I cannot lift back onto her chair. A proprietary lift costs $9500 and is just far to expensive.

You are not going to get much help with a swimming pool lift as it is not essential to living UNLESS it provides some medical benefit to her. I don't think you are going to find anything much cheaper.

I was recently traveling and had a similar problem. We put a plastic chair into the pool which I sat in when I was ready to get out - that helped me enough that I could do the rest myself with some strong arms outside the pool.

I lifeguard at this big pool in my home-town. This patron came up to me the other day and asked whether he had to pay to use an inner-tube. I said yes and he got mad. He wouldn't accept my apologies, though I was very polite.

I told the guy I had to watch my water, but after I turned back to the pool, he lifted up the back of my chair (it's a big rolling lifeguard stand) and rolled it forward before I could get off! The front wheels dropped off the edge with a huge jar.

At that point the head guard ran over to deal with the situation, but the guy pretty much went nuts (I think he had mental problems) and tried to sock the head lifeguard.

The head guard is this really buff dude, and he knocked the patron into the pool. I don't know if he was hurt, or just couldn't swim, but the patron started drowning, and I had to make a rescue. The head guard kicked him out and told me not to put in his role (knocking the patron in) on the paperwork I now have to fill out. What should I do?
Hmmmm... maybe I didn't make the story far-fetched enough after all. How about this:

After the patron gets knocked in the pool and I go in for the rescue, the chair falls all the way in, striking the diving board (which sticks out over the pool). The board shatters, and one of fragments goes straight through the patron's neck, killing him. The head guard is ready to put all the blame on me, but then his boss comes in and says we have to cover it all up; that no one knew the patron anyway and we don't want trouble.

Now what should I do?

That is a matter of personal conscience, and should be thoroughly considered, and is not right for me to say, but I will say that honesty, as well as helping others, by over looking faults, are praiseworthy, so perhaps a middle path, where truth is spoken, but shame is hidden... Do what will make things better and not worse.

Edit: Then you'd have to uphold the truth for the sake of justice.

i am a lifeguard and we were putting chairs away at the pool and i was lifting chairs and i had a sudden back pain that hurt so much i couldn't breathe. i had to go sit down and it still hurt when i breathed. this was yesterday and it still hurts by my spine and shoulder blade today. could it be a pinched nerve or something else???

I had a VERY similar incident. I went to my reg. Dr. they prescribed pain killers that did help (if I did nothing - no activity) otherwise it was still painful. After a few weeks I visited a chiropractor (per the advice of my mother-in-law) and POOF - after 2 visits I was 100% better! Pinched nerve, YUP! Do not just settle into taking pain meds forever. Try them if you like, but if it does not 'fix' itself soon, see another Dr. (chiro maybe). Good luck!

senior prank is this year, and we wnt to be remembered...

other years have

put bubbles in fountains
put all chairs on roof's, and list goes on....

this are some we have thought of for our year, we plan on doing a few of them

if ur doing like senior prank these are a few we have planned for my school
1. put cow upstairs corridor, cows cant walk downstairs.
2. take all chairs from classrooms at night and put on oval
3. colour school pool with dye
4. guys and girls swap uniforms for day
5. draw a dick and seniors 08 with weed killer so it doesnt show up until we finish school
6. lift chapel chairs and turn around and bolt to ground.
thats pretty much all we got so far.

We put glitter in the vents. A meaner one was someone dropped paint balls in the hallway between classes.

If you get enough people you can pick up and move some cars. Also you could try switching all the light bulbs with ones of different colors.

i'm a pisces and i know this girl who's a cancer. her names sammie. she's really cute & i'm really attached to her.
Recently her family broke up. Her mom and dad hate each other, and in may, her dad took sammies little sister and dissapeared. the cops got involved but could'nt find them. sammie was so wrecked, her sisters only six and she thinks she'll never see her again.
we were hanging out a week after the whole thing happened. & i gave her a hug, but she was acting real wierd and panicked. & i noticed she's wearing a hoodie in the middle of summer. i rolled up her sleeve and she's been cutting herself. i knew girls that cut themselves, but this was really bad. i didn't know what she was trying to do... then she has this look on her face like i'm about to scream at her. and i was going to, but i couldn't. i adore her. i told her i wouldn't drive her home until she told me everything that's bothering her. & she was sobbing and talking to me for an hour, and bassically she feels rejected, and it sounds like she hates herself. I was holding her and she cried for like another hour, and she was giving off this vibe, like she was really desperate & i didn't know what to say.
all of sudden she's binging at random parties, she's been passed out and i drove her home a few times. Then she goes to this rave. Her best friend begged me to drive her up there so she could take sammie home. So it's me, sammie's friend, and my best friend joey. we look for her for hours, and it's wierd. all these crazy white kids, dancing with neon sticks and necklaces, the whole house is misty and smells like weed, everybodys doing E, and i can't find her. Me and joey start looking out by the pool, and she's in this chair passed out & i lifted her up and a bunch of packs fall on the floor. they have a picture of donald duck with devil horns, and it's acid, and she's tripping out. i was shocked and i couldn't believe it. i had a friend who was a cancer too, he had the same birthday as sammie and died from acid. he died in april this year. so now i'm really scared that she's spiraling and she'll end up like johnny. a month before he died, he wasn't even johnny anymore, he had no personality unless he was on H or E or acid. he was a zombie & i miss him alot. if i lost sammie, i'd be wrecked, she's the only thing in the world that i love, and i want to tell her i love her, but every time i try to i can't put how i feel in words. i told her i liked her once, and she sed she thinks i'm really cute, and she likes me too, but she doesn't GET me, and i don't know what she means. i have to take care of her, but i don't know how to help her or what to do. and everyone i talk too gives a useless opinion.

You can't do much, other than be there for her when she needs to talk, which is what you're already doing, and encouraging her to go see someone for counseling. This is out of your league; you have got to tell a responsible adult immediately, even if she gets mad at you for doing it. Because you love her, and she could die, you have to do it now.
