Summer Lift

you can't do it if you can your athletically uncoordinated

It's impossible to do this. It is scientifically proven that the two sides of the brain are confused when doing this action, and your foot twirls the other way.

If you sit in a chair and pull it hard enough can you lift yourself in the air?

I know where you are coming from with this one (worryingly)
Unfortunatly, Newton crushed our dreams, with a little thing called GRAVITY.

try this: sitting on a chair, lift your right leg and rotate it clockwise.?

while rotating the leg, try drawing the number 6 in air with your right hand. your leg will automatically change its direction to anti-clockwise.

Thats irritateing as hell! Whats the deal?

when rotating right foot clockwise why can't you draw an imaginary 6 in the air?
chairlift 2

Sit in a chair facing forwards both feet on the ground. Lift your right foot and rotate it clockwise. While doing so try and draw the # 6 in mid air with your right hand. It's impossible. Does any one know the reason why not?

It's not actually impossible, just very difficult. If you do it very slowly it is possible. It isn't physics, it's just that because both limbs are on the same side of the body, it is only one side of the brain that controls them and the signals get a bit mixed up.

Do you put your feet up first in a recliner chair?

Balloon science lesson

Anyone familiar with the physics of lighter-than-air lift would probably have suspected that 6-year-old Falcon Heene was not inside the balloon-lofted contraption that riveted the TV-watching population for several hours on Thursday. It's better to be safe than sorry, though - even if the false alarm is followed by a nationwide round of second-guessing.

Lift is related to the weight of a gas in a given volume: If the weight of a balloon and its contents is less than the weight of the volume of air displaced by the balloon, then the balloon will rise until it reaches an equilibrium level. And if the difference is great enough, you can hang some extra weight from the balloon and still let it fly.

A series of amateur "armchair balloonists" have taken advantage of that fact to go airborne. Here are three of the most notable fliers:

Who Should Use a Lift Chair and Why?

Lift chairs are manufactured to make the course of sitting
and standing easier. Generally, these chairs are designed
for individuals with limited mobility problems, back
problems, arthritis or injuries. Lift chairs move from a
normal position to a upright standing position to aid the
person to stand. Lift chairs generally reduce the strain
on the back and legs, which is very beneficial for
individuals recuperating from surgery.

These chairs are generally designed for the elderly as
well. It is not surprising that people with old age move a
little slower. Moreover, they are more prone to a variety
of diseases such as arthritis. With mobility...
