Bath Tub Lift

Can you just unscrew the screen part and just screw the lift and turn plug in its place and just replace the overflow cover where the lever was and just put a solid overflow cover. (The plunger mechanism and lever have already been removed.)

You may not be able to if the threads on your existing drain shoe ( the elbow under the tub) and the threads on the new drain plug do not match. If this is the case, then you will need to replace the elbow as well that connects into the overflow pipe. Hope this helps.

My very large Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Mix has a very very bad skin condition that needs to cleaned with medicated washes and such. The only problem with this is that he doesn't get into the tub, and lifting him is out of the question..can anyone recommend ANY and I mean ANY solution to this problem?

Get a kiddie-pool with low sides, that is what we use for our 180lb mastiff.

I have a fairly small living room and the carpet is in dire need of cleaning. I can't really afford to hire a carpet cleaner etc. I was thinking about lifting up the carpet and washing it in my bath. Is this a stupid idea? If it is likely to shrink, by how much? A small amount of shrinkage would be ok.

This would be unadviseable to clean carpet in this manner, suggested cleaning: Rent Steam Cleaner from Supermarket add only two cups of White Vinegar to tank no detergent needed, your carpet will come up beautifully clean, bright, and sanitized Good Luck !

I noticed an article in AARP magazine , and it had a picture of an "Archimedes Bath Lift"-It looks interesting, as I have problems getting in and out of a tub- Yes, I like showers , but every now and then it's nice to be able to have a nice relaxing bath-Because of a total knee replacement , it's difficult to get up and down- I just wondered if anyone has had one of these, and I understand it's price is very reasonable???? Thank-you

its like an elevator and they are costly. But they do make a water tight doors for tubs.We can just set inside

If you were an able bodied individual with a desire to die, could you go face down in a couple feet of water and kill yourself? Will the human "survival instinct" always be stronger than one' s death wish? Living requires lifting your head, suicide requires holding the head down. Is it possible?

Yes, an able bodied person who wants to live can drown in a bathtub of water. Any accident that happens which momentarily disables his instinct to get out will do it if he also inhales as it happens. It takes less than a second to inhale a little. The coughing spell would probably incapacitate him long enough till the automatic inhale in the middle of the choking finishes off the job. This happened to a woman who fell into a ditch with only 2 inches of water in it locally & recently.

My concern is the same as the others here. Are you considering doing this as a way to be able to change your mind? I can't speak for you. When I was thinking of suuicide, I didn't really want to die. I wanted to stop living the way I was & could see no way out. There is always a way out. It took both counseling, & eventually antidepressants to get me past that feeling. I still have depressive episodes sometimes, but noyt even close to the uter despair I once felt.

If my hunch is correct, please get the help you need. I promise this feeling will pass if you let it..
